Whitey’s Man in the FBI Speaks Out

FBI agent John Connolly went to jail for enabling the bloody reign of gangster Whitey Bulger. Now, in his first interview since Bulger was caught, he says the extent of the feds' cover-up may never be known.

William Flatt said...: I think it's safe to say now that the Mob is largely a relic of the 20th Century, the only REAL organized crime left in this country is the federal government itself. The gov't hates competition, ya know.

But what is also telling about the feds and the FBI in particular is how they focus on one threat to the exclusion of another. Hoover ignored the Mob and focused on the commies, maybe because the commies had so fully penetrated certain institutions in our society (entertainment, academia, politics, etc.).. Oddly, the Mob is gone and the commies won; and yet the same dynamic has occurred since 1990.

Since 1990 you have the feds focusing on the patriots (PATCON, etc.) and ignoring the radical islamists, illegal aliens and neo-communist radicals. They get their panties in a twist over militias for several years to the exclusion of the jihadist threat, and we get 9/11. So if history is a guide, we'll prevail and the heretofore ignored threats will eventually be resolved.

And hopefully I'm not 'just' being optimistic. But I have to believe that we WILL prevail!; June 23, 2013 at 6:29 PM

This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible.
