When collectivism meets journalism, they'll eat their own -- every time.
I saw this extraordinary exchange -- NBC's Gregory: Why shouldn't Greenwald be charged?
NBC "Meet the Press" host David Gregory got a rise out of Glenn Greenwald on Sunday by asking the Guardian reporter why he shouldn't be charged with a crime for having "aided and abetted" former National Security Agency analyst Edward Snowden.
Greenwald replied on the show Sunday that it was "pretty extraordinary that anybody who would call themselves a journalist would publicly muse about whether or not other journalists should be charged with felonies." . . .
During his interview with NBC's Gregory, Greenwald declined to discuss where Snowden was headed. That refusal seemed to prompt Gregory to ask: "To the extent that you have aided and abetted Snowden, even in his current movements, why shouldn't you, Mr. Greenwald, be charged with a crime?"
Greenwald said Gregory was embracing the Obama administration's attempt to "criminalize investigative journalism," citing an FBI agent's characterization of Fox News journalist James Rosen as a probable co-conspirator of a State Department contractor who was suspected of leaking classified information to Rosen. Rosen was not charged.
"If you want to embrace that theory, it means that every investigative journalist in the United States who works with their sources, who receives classified information is a criminal, and it's precisely those theories and precisely that climate that has become so menacing in the United States," said Greenwald

But, of course, waving magazines around in violation of DC law is not a crime.
Ain't this the same SOB that was waving a 30rd magazine at LaPierre a while back, contrary to DC laws? He's sure got some brass to talk like that. Oh, wait, progs don't have brass, they just lie, like a rug.
Such an interesting comment that SHOULD have been responded to in this way.
Mr. Grogory, you yourself committed an actual crime by waving around a banned rifle magazine on national television. And you want to ask ME about not being charged and prosecuted for criminal action? Really?
Do you suppose Mr. Gregory saw the blatant hypocrisy of his line of thought?
My guess is he didn't. They tend to miss the logs in their own eyes while pointing at the splinters in others' eyes.
If the DCPD had locked him up when they should have, someone else would have his place at the table. Maybe they'd think differently, but probably not.
NBC? Meet the Press? All you needed to say. Another name for them is "Ministry of Propaganda".
If you need a reading on the commitment of lamestream media to the First Amendment, recall that most of them supported McCain-Feingold, the bill that criminalized unregulated political commentary within a couple of months of an election.
I guess Snowden has left Honk Kong, and the Hong Kong govt thumbed their noses at the US govt. Good on 'em.

Too bad Greenwald didn't respond along the line he'd be too happy to respond if Gregory would first answer why he wasn't charged when he ignored what he was instructed and violated DC law with his magazine display a few months back.
Gregory - the dude who violated the law on TV - is smitten by that thrill that runs down his leg. He has lost all objectivity as a journalist and is a Dem Plant like George Stepho.
What everyone seems to forget is that while Glenn Greenwald is a journalist, David Gregory is NOT. Gregory is a propagandist, and propagandists masquerade as journalists.
To be charged by a criminal regime with political offenses is the highest honor; it means that the accused is a patriot, a hero, a courageous citizen. It means you are a dissident.
And if you suddenly wake up one day to find that your country has dissidents living among the population, that means you are living under tyranny, and you have a duty to bring down that regime.
America is there, guys. Time to lock & load!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
David ..Gregory..journalist..
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

this buffoon makes the Three Stooges roll on the floor in gut splitting laughter.
ps..Greenwald is the plumb bob of investigative journalism, who just provided the entire world living proof the USG lies through it's teeth.
on the other hand..Gregory is the plumb bob of a shameless USG fawning, asslicking schmuck.
He redefines the word toady.

And if you ARE a dissident..you need to visit Kevin Gosztola's site. Like Glenn Greenwald, he is another plumb bob of investigative journalism. He's one of the few private investigative journalists that has covered Bradley Manning's kangaroo kourt proceedings from day 1, and covers every major story concerning civil rights and government/corporate criminality, etc.
