Logistics: Another take on where all the ammo has gone.

Ammunition in popular calibers continues to be hard to find.

I still think that the Marxists are responsible for most of this. I have been keeping track of DHS ammo purchases for the last 22 months. The press reports are wrong in the total numbers of ammo that has been purchased. I make it at just under 30 billion rounds of ammo purchased by one Department of Government. With their success in tightening supplies of popular calibers they are now turing to sporting ammo. A recent order for .45 Long Colt (Cowboy action) 30-30 Winchester (hunting) .22 LR ( hunting and target) and oddly enough 12 gauge trap and skeet loads #9 shot and the same loadings in .410 ga. now proves they are targeting ammo that most consumers are using. From the ammo that is used by police, military and private now their net includes any other ammo that could and would be used in case of a government take over by the Marxists minions of Zero. Where it is going I have no idea. But you can bet a look at ammo bunkers on military reservations might be very revealing. Maybe Holder is selling it to the cartels in Mexico to go with all those assault rifles he gave them.

I read some interesting posts about supply inelasticity, with respect to raw materials and production capabilities...this alone can ease the feelings of paranoia...if I sell half my stash, I'll still have a lifetime supply...God bless you MrV

Recently our local Academy Sports store had 550-round boxes of Remington .22LR for $21.99. That's pretty good, about 4 cents a round. But they would let a customer have only one box, and they didn't have very many on hand. So they can more easily control the quantity limit, they have moved popular calibers to front of store in customer service, and keep them in sight but behind the counter so the clerk hands the box of ammo to you.

I have been a shooter and hunter for a very long time. I also reload. In all my years I have never seen ammo or components this hard to come by. Not even during the height of the Vietnam war or the first Gulf War. There was no interupption in supply. I have heard the same story about the price and availability of copper for gilding metal in bullet production. With in the last few years ammo manufacterers have been switching to other materials for this purpose. The only time I remember anything that ever affected the prices of ammo was back in the late 70's early 80's when it was reported that Russia was trying to corner world lead market. Prices went up on chilled shot and bullets for a few months but nothing like this. The only time something like this happened was during WWII. All the ammo made went for the war effort. We are engaged in a world war but we don't have near the numbers of troops in the field as duing WWII. Mr. Evil and his devils spawn are behind this pure and simple. 8 year ago it was nothing to go to a small gun show and see 8-10 vendors selling nothing but ammo. Pallets of mil surp and prices were so reasonable. This is contrived. Just like the economic crisis in 2008. It is a grab for power and control of the largest standing army on the planet. The American people. Disarm us and the world will never be the same.
