I have exactly the same take on this as David. I don't like the gratuitous sniping, but that answer by Kerodin made me wonder too. Maybe Kerodin should write a retraction. Anyone can get flustered in front of a camera.
static defenses are DEATH TRAPS. we learned this at the sweeney seige in hamilton,MA. they just wait until they have the right people in place and then they come for you. they have all the time and supplies in the world...and you don't.
in an open-warfare scenario they just send a B-52 and level the place. simple, neat, and final. and at the altitudes those things fly, there would be nothing you could do about it.
