1994 sure put the fear of gun control laws into some Dems.

Some Democrats Want to Talk Gun Control, but Many Don’t
Democrats all over Washington issued statements Friday expressing sympathy and dismay over the school shooting in Newtown, Conn. But amid the sadness, grief and shock one thing was clear — most in the Democratic Party did not want to inject a discussion of gun control into the day.
Many Democrats blame gun control for Al Gore’s 2000 presidential loss and there has been an increasing reluctance over the past decade to push the issue to the forefront of American politics. In 2006, Democrats won a majority in Congress in part by winning in conservative areas with candidates who were proudly pro-gun rights.

Mike, they will take what ever they think they will get away with. Those who would control others do not think logically. Many times their actions are professionally suicidal, but if it moves the agenda "Foreward!", then they will go ahead and crack a few eggs. Socialism is a religion and government is their god. Certain numbers will behave as irrationally as a Mohammedan suicide bomber, with the exact same illogic and the exact same fanatical commitment.

I expect them to grab as much anti-constitutional ground as they can, now. The inevitable blow-back be damned. They will go for broke while they think they can get away with it.

God help us, and may God have mercy on them.

Fortunately for retaining a modicum of individual liberty of the ruling elite's subjects -- us benighted mundanes -- the politicians still have to stand for reelection. Many of the pro gun control political critters will have to weigh whether they get more votes banning, or otherwise encumbering, guns and/or ammo, or in standing up for individual rights and liberties (those that still stand in one diluted form or another) of the people they are supposed to represent and protect.

Karma, or more realistically, backlash can be deadly in the political game. Most political animals will seek to appease the group that supports them by the largest margin rather than actually follow that "worthless old parchment."

I've former Congressman James Barcia-D of Bay City, MI one time when he explained how the vote went down. Barcia said that Clinton, would call him at 0200 and ask what bacon he wanted in exchange for his assault weapons vote. He told Clinton that his district would not abide a vote for the ban, and that Ted Nugent had fund raised for him and that it would be his political death. He also said that he had another Democrat friend in Wisconsin, with a similar blue collar district who succumbed to Clinton's request. That Wisconsin Democrat, was drummed out of Congress by the people at the next election.

Well pretty soon the elections won't mean anything anymore because they are importing as many new voters as possible, as fast as possible. Your vote is or will be cancelled out by their new voters...

But it's not a plan or conspiracy or anything...
