First, and perhaps the smallest point, the author claims to have interviewed me:
Bluestein reported from Gainesville, Ga. Associated Press writers Dorie Turner, Jeff Martin and Leonard Pallats in Atlanta, and Russ Bynum in Savannah, Ga., contributed to this story.
Only one problem, I didn't talk to any of those people, including the writer.
Second, he writes:
On his website, militia leader-turned-blogger Mike Vanderboegh writes about fed-up Americans responding to government violence with guns and grenades, even deadly gas.
"Deadly gas"?? Say what? I know I'm getting a little absent-minded, but have I ever mentioned "deadly gas" in any context? Of course knowing how felony stupid almost all reporters are, perhaps he's referring to the fuel-air explosive mix used on a military target in the chapter of Absolved entitled Black and Tans, which is still not, by definition a "deadly gas." I dunno. Help me out here, readers. Do you recall me ever writing about deadly gas as tool of Restoration War?
Third, and most offensive, is this cheap, and doubly false, shot:
Vanderboegh, a big man with thinning gray hair and glasses, was raised in Ohio and moved to Alabama years ago for work. He was a former Alabama Minuteman leader but said he distanced himself from the movement years ago.
"Distanced (myself) from the movement"? Hell, I'm proud to be known, as one reporter dubbed me, as "the Gray Eminence of the Constitutional Militia Movement." "Distanced" myself? Right. That's why I'm always asking "Got Militia?" I suppose. I may be too old, fat and crippled to command constitutional militia, but that doesn't mean I don't support the concept enthusiastically.
I mean, okay, it IS the AP, and they make shit up all the time, but the worst part is the second fiction in that paragraph:
"(A) big man with thinning gray hair and glasses." Now look, he could have called me fat and I wouldn't be upset. But "thinning hair." I'll have you know that us Vanderboegh men all have hair that goes prematurely grey and then white, but we die with a full head of it. "Thinning gray hair." Sheesh. Can't they get the important things right? ;-)
LATER: Okay, I have an explanation for the first quibble now. Another version of the AP story appears here and it credits both Bluestein and Jay Reeves. Now Reeves I DID talk to. All other criticisms remain valid. Especially that bit about the hair.

Looks like a good case of libel to me.
I think this is a great opening to mention Michael Crichton's Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect.
This is all obviously a pretext for castor bean control.
This excerpt from Wikipedia:
The murders perpetrated by members of Charles Manson's "Family" were inspired in part by Manson's prediction of Helter Skelter, an apocalyptic war he believed would arise from tension over racial relations between blacks and whites. This "chimerical vision" -- as it was termed by the court that heard Manson's appeal from his conviction for the Tate/LaBianca killings -- involved reference to MUSIC OF THE BEATLES (particularly songs from The Beatles, also known as The White Album) and to the NEW TESTAMENT'S BOOK OF REVELATION.

I suppose the same argument can be made against Mike, the Apostle John and the Beatles: their writings inspire murder and mayhem. ;^)

Cloudbuster is right! Prove to me that you NEED to have access to castor beans!

As I recollect, there was that one time where you suggested manufacturing the "fart gas" you made in your high-school science lab. It could then be used in a hypodermic needle to squirt the product into a car's interior.
Is fart gas in an enclosed area deadly? If so, you need to warn against this in your next Praxis.
Otherwise, we could lose a few militamen to asphyxiation who did not properly vent their sleeping bags.

I was thinking I might be able to explain the "deadly gas" reference. I thought "Four Fingers of Death" had mentioned some deadly (or at least rather unpleasant) gas, but on refreshing my memory, flatulence doesn't seem to be among the digestive issues discussed in that chapter.
Mike, now listen carefully... please, and no condescension is meant towards you by me.
Get that lawyer, or a few. Slander and libel are coming your way. This is an opportunity to raid their warchests and fund your:
medical bills
kid's future
retirement
etc....
Do it. Get it lined up. Go after every false allegation that defames you via lies. They would do the same to you. Might take a couple years, might settle sooner.... but do it, or you'll wonder later why you didn't.
"(A) big man with thinning gray hair and glasses."
The biggest mistake in the article is their assumption that a man so described poses no threat to the statists goals.
Picture yourself leaving the north exit of The Dolphin Mall in west Miami-Dade county. As you come to the first major intersection look just to your left and you behold a large field of 6 foot tall.... OMG those are Castor Bean Plants! Quick, someone! Call the FBI before some terrorists find them!
Castor beans are a very hardy, persistant, hard to get rid of pest plant that probably grow wild in more places than the FBI would like to think about. It's certainly not the case that anyone would have to locate some exotic precursor chemical in order to make up a batch of ricin.
Banning them would be an interesting project that might give FBI something constructive to do for a change. Might even improve the looks of a few vacant lots.
So you are a Buckeye. Cheers, fellow cake eater.
Possably the best defense for GGG4(Georgia's Geratric Group of 4) is
Total Incompetence (possably also,
incontinence) if they were only working with a "bucket list", hell,
i could fill a 55 gallon drum with
names written on very small pieces of paper using the same criterion.
While speaking of incompetence, how is it that NONE of the so-called ace reporters has ever researched the origin and significance of "break thier windows" ???
Just wonderin'...

No deadly gas in your book. Rawles' novel Patriots has an instance where Americans use the invaders' own VX gas against them. But your book has none, if I recall correctly.
"Deadly gas"?? Say what?
Most likely a bit of ignorant Progressive projection.
Most Progressive, liberal, types have a college degree so they know.
1. Poison gas is dangerous
2. Poison gas can be made a variety of ways.
3. Poison gas can kill lots of undesirables. Like the progressive National Socialists did in Europe in the late Thirties and early Forties.
So they think they can easily make it to kill their opponents and fear it will be made to be used on them.
They have no concept of the technical problems that is inherent to such weapons.
You know, I read pieces like this one from the AP ("pieces" of what I won't say), and I am struck once again by a recent and most delightful comment by an online rightist commentator who goes by the handle of "Shrewsbury", which hits the nail on the head:
(Shrewsbury) does not give a rat's hindquarters what liberals (that is, neo-Leninists) think or say or do about anything. At this point in the dialectic, no dialogue is possible with them. They live in their own universe of lies and depravity.
You have been alynski'd Mr. Mike.
Straight out of rules for radicals.
Proves beyond a shadow of a doubt just how in the bag the 5th column legacy media is.
If there was ever a stereotypical target the tyrants and treasonous ones could fabricate, you are it.
They are gonna beat your carcass like a dead horse, like road kill deer on interstate 10 runned over by semi trucks till it is a dried out red splotch on the tarmac.
This is part and parcel the lap dog media's sole reason they exist now.
Good news is they are just warming up.
I believe in their hubris and rabid fervor to fulfill their duty to tyranny, they have alienated millions who are sick and fucking tired of their bullshit.
Americans love an underdog.
If I was you I'd write a chronological piece listing every event in the Gunwalker treason, with particular evidence on how the government, with the pravda press' assistance,
its smear machine has intimidated, threatened and attacked everyone, from whistle blowers to yourself.
I'm sure it would not be difficult to present a pattern of reprisal and persecution based on retribution for exposing people places times on true events.
Time to out alynski the alynski's.
Remember, these traitors are worried, and probably pissed off right now at you, they are getting desperate no doubt, flailing around like rats about to be gassed, (pun intended), they are compounding one mistake with another. Like you say, the truth is a very splendid thing. The light of truth has a marvelous sanitizing effect. There are American's everywhere, who like a sponge, are desperate for the simple plain old truth.
The truth will out, they will come if you produce it.
Keep it simple, name everyone involved. Especially the usurper. He is a leper right now, very vulnerable politically.
Of all involved, he is ripe for stigmatization alynski style.
The great deceiver has made a lot of enemies out of decent folks who are just as upset with themselves they where fools and suckers voting for him, as they are they received a royal screwing.
Maybe you can't see the forest for the trees right about now on this, and God Bless your heart, but you are in the position right now to become a household name.
Courtesy of the same tactics of the left are arraying against you.
Time to not play the victim and time make them dance to your tune.
Time to use that journalistic and Constitutional Militia leadership you posses to good work.
Fame goes a long way to assisting in turning the tables on em.
You can not buy the fame you are receiving, not at any price.
Gunwalker is a travesty unimaginable till our present time. But like our present turmoil of lawlessness and disregard by and for the Rule of Law by our very own government, the range and scope of its treason is the crux of how morally corrupt those involved in it truly are. Or vice verse.
For every person you enlighten about it, the power of the truth of its evil grows exponentially.
Remember, the key here is the government is accusing these geriatric simple fools, and you via a perverted association, of the very same things it is grossly unquestionably guilty of.
Agitprop only works if the most basic simple of truths is stymied.
They are out to destroy not only you, but every idea any of us have that the system is completely corrupted long enough to get to the point where they can finally pull the plug on this here Constitutional Republic.
These guys clearly did it because of your book. Those brown guys over there screaming "Allah is great" and citing parts of the Koran that justify their murders though? Totally an isolated incident.
I thought "Four Fingers of Death" had mentioned some deadly (or at least rather unpleasant) gas, but on refreshing my memory, flatulence doesn't seem to be among the digestive issues discussed in that chapter.--Kurt
Thanks for "clearing the air' on this topic, Kurt :^)
