Apparently our bureaucratic and political “servants” failed to realize that the historic ability to control cultural memes via the MSM no longer obtains in the era of “alternative” media. Two dedicated and unpaid members of that alternative media, Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea have, virtually unaided, engaged in the investigative digging, reporting and prodding which has resulted in the exposure of this scandal which in the opinion of this observer far exceeds the importance of the Watergate affair in that the resulting deaths in both the US and Mexico are yet to be enumerated. A daily perusal of both of the above web sites is highly encouraged in order to obtain an understanding of the scope of our rulers efforts to eliminate our liberties.
Then John Richardson, writing at No Lawyers - Only Guns and Money: "The Washington Post Is Finally Heard From."
It has been almost three months since Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered on the U.S.-Mexico border. It has been over one month since Sen. Chuck Grassley went public with his concerns about ATF allowing guns to "walk" unmolested across the border which were then used to kill Agent Terry. During this whole time, while David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh have been working to get this story the attention it well deserves, the Washington Post has barely mentioned it. This despite their months long series of articles called "The Hidden Life of Guns". . .
Grimaldi, in a back-handed slap that would make Mark Potok of the SPLC salivate with joy, then acknowledges the work that that David and Mike have done bringing this scandal to light.
"Anti-ATF bloggers sympathetic to the militia movement picked up the allegations late last year, dubbing the scandal 'Project Gunwalker' and alleging ATF agents let guns 'walk' to boost the numbers of U.S. weapons recovered in Mexico. The bloggers theorized that the ATF wanted high numbers to gain support for an assault-weapons ban."
It must suck to have a pair of middle-aged white guys with blogs just thoroughly beat you at your own job.
Thanks, guys.

Hm, did Poretto ever revisit his predictions about Rangel's draft bill?
Mr. Vanderboegh:
That also makes us guys who've been following the "SIPSEY STREET IRREGULARS" and the "WAR ON GUNS" web sites feel rather - - - gosh, gee whillikers, what IS the proper terminology I'm looking for?
Anyway, you and Mr. Codrea are very special, and I reckon that makes us loyal fans also a little special, or at least, maybe we might justifiably feel that way since we've all been on the same page from the beginning, despite the snobbish mockery of our more formally educated holier-than-thou peers in the status quo mainstream establishment.
Congratulations to you, and WAY to go!!!
You and Mr. Codrea have done a FANTASTIC job!
Thank you.

OT: Did Pete ever revisit his predictions about BHO's use of an Executive Order to ban guns and ammo? ;^)
At the Calderon conference, Dear Leader carefully articulated his support for the Second Amendment.
MALTHUS
It funny how you keep perpetrating the same old lies and fabrications about ATF and the like. Must be nice to not have a job and sit in your mommas basement, sipping (no pun intended)juice boxes looking for ways to spread misstruths.
Since you didn't make it as "real" journalists, try to find a real job. Any 12 year old kid can surf the net and repost un-verified stories and claim they are legit. A real journalist verifies their sources and then reports - not you guys. You rely on CUATF to be your SOI's. Really, thats like asking he NRA for logical thoughts - it's aint gonna happen.
Carry on gentleman with your little cruisade.
Mike- go ahead and do a little dance on the table (and if your health permits it, have a beer, too!) You and David prove once again the fact that 'Truth will out'.
I'd say more, but words fail me.
God bless you both.

Annoymous 10 Mar 11 - 08:27,
Have you not been following the Gunwalker stories? Or, are you another, “Don’t confuse me with the facts” type who has no interest in logical evidentiary based argument? Some of the following information may occupy your mind long enough to help you forget about Sipsey Street altogether and encourage you to waste someone else’s time: 1) The Earth isn’t flat, nor is it perfectly round. 2) There is no up or down in outer space. 3) Man did make round trips to the moon. 4) There are more than three elements. 5) The difference between the square of X and the square of (X+1) is the sum of X+(X+1).
Please endeavour to research and verify or discredit each of these 5 statements by logical argument before returning to Sipsey Street and displaying your prejudice, ignorance, and arrogance again.
Thanks,
