Remember: "Can't stop the signal" works both ways, just like tracers.

A tip of the boonie hat to Brother John for these links:

Cell phones are 'Stalin's dream,' says free software movement founder.

NASA Building Network of Smart Cameras Across the US. Of course the latter are looking up, not down. Give 'em time, I reckon.

How can someone of Stallman's obvious intelligence not see that the worm has turned and "big business" is no longer the real bogeyman?

How can he support the rioting tyrants in WI?

I've finally figured out that what we think of when we use the word "Government" -- CONgress, POTUS and SCOTUS -- aren't even CLOSE to being the *REAL* problem.

It doesn't matter WHO we elect - the REAL Leviathan rolls on, unchanged. It is the career bureaucrats who wrote the "rules" that we're imprisoned for daring to violate.

It is they who decide who to arrest, who to prosecute on what charge, they who set the "limits" of emissions and other points...

And - like SCOTUS - they have "lifetime appointments" as it's damn near impossible to fire them once they've achieved "tenure."

All of this *MIGHT* be acceptable - if not for the mandatory-participation of "public-sector" unions. If nothing else has been proven, it should be obvious that THE UNIONS are now the *REAL* power of our .gov -- they tell their members how to act, what to do and what NOT to do.

THEY are the "shadow-governmemt" and the ones we should really fear.

In sum, until we can figure out how to clean-house and get rid of these miscreants, any real "change" is IMPOSSIBLE!

DD-

Because Stallman is a bit of a collectivist wingnut?

It took years of arm twisting from the OSS community to get him to admit that someone somewhere making money from software might be an okay thing to let happen - not just in support.

To Stallman, software should be free. Especially yours.

*ahem*

Not that I know a thing about it.

Dude uses a 900 megahertz computer and runs an OS that doesn't support anything. This is 15-20 years after this movement started. Sarcastically, way to go.

But it's good to know I'm not alone with not having a cell phone. It's me and a guy who eats nothing but tree bark and soy ice cream and probably smells like feet.
