Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer's Washington Post lies unread on the breakfast table as he carries yet another wrecked television set out the door to the garbage. "(Expletive Deleted) CBS," he is heard to mutter. All the caviar and vodka sent to Grimaldi looks like a waste.
This just in: the Washington Post is still dead to the Project Gunwalker scandal, but that fact is increasingly irrelevant.
Recall this from Waldo's leaked ATF spin-doctor memo?
Please make every effort for the next two weeks to maximize coverage of ATF operations/enforcement actions/arrests at the local and regional level. Given the negative coverage by CBS Evening News last week and upcoming events this week, the bureau should look for every opportunity to push coverage of good stories. Fortunately, the CBS story has not sparked any follow up coverage by mainstream media and seems to have fizzled.
In the harsh light of this morning, ATF flack Scot Thomasson will have to revise that last estimate. Now we have the LA Times as well as CBS out in front and running with this story. Senator Grassley has sat for his first on-the-record interviews, and his latest letter demanding "the time for truth is now" will surely at the least force a "modified limited hangout" from Eric Holder. The stone wall is breached beyond possibility of repair. There are too many whistleblower agents and too many documents already in Grassley's hands and the tone and substance of those documents are absolutely damning. There will be hearings in both houses of Congress. Count on it.
Who cares now if the Washington Post is still dead? They have made themselves, by their moribund inaction, completely irrelevant. Whether the corpse is finally, one day, buried is now moot. Real news organizations will continue to step over that dead body to get to the truth. "Here lies the Washington Post," the headstone should read, "Cause of death: suicide by strict adherence to a collectivist meme."

National Review's website has an interesting tidbit: The Border Patrol has been under orders to use shotguns with beanbag rounds first, and was operating under those orders when the shooting happened.

I would like to kick them as they lie dead in the street. III.
I would like to run the carcass over with a monster truck and then accidentally back up over it. The anticipation of the satisfying thump, thump, thump, thump just has to bring a smile to your face.

The Dallas Morning News has also picked up on Gunwalker.
WaPo be damned. Nobody West of DC reads that liberal progressive collectivist rag anyway.
