As a political idea, we are moving from the "ridicule" stage into the "engagement" stage.

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." -- Mohandas K. Gandhi.

It is one thing to be reviled by the Rachel Madcows of the world, to be lied about by the professional liars of SPLC, ADL and the LaRouchies, to have your life and those of your family threatened by the anonymous collectivists of left and right, to be shunned by people who are supposed to be your "friends" -- all that I have actually been through before in the 90s. But to be denounced by a former president of the United States of the caliber of Billy Jeff Clinton -- the master of parsing the meaning of "is" -- well, that is a high honor. It means that we are over Berlin, boys and girls, and Herr Hitler doesn't like it. He doesn't like it one bit.

As Rush Limbaugh observed yesterday:

We are living in their heads rent free.

We scare them, ladies and gentlemen. WE scare them. YOU scare them. Accept the compliment. It is seriously and genuinely offered. We ARE living in their heads rent free.

So don't slack off. Keep up the "We Are Everywhere" campaign. Keep infiltrating the IRS and other government agencies. We have them more than mildly concerned.

They may be, in some quarters at least, scared spitless.

'All warfare is based on deception. Therefore, when capable, feign incapacity; when active, inactivity. When near, make it appear that you are far away; when far away, that you are near. Offer the enemy a bait to lure him; feign disorder and strike him. When he concentrates, prepare against him; where he is strong, avoid him.
Anger his general and confuse him. Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance. Keep him under strain and wear him down. When he is united, divide him. Attack where he is unprepared; sally out when he does not expect you. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the supreme skill... Disrupt his alliances...
Therefore I say: '[If you] know the enemy and know yourself, in a hundred battles you will never be in peril. When you are ignorant of the enemy but know yourself, your chances of winning or losing are equal; if ignorant of both your enemy and yourself, you are certain in every battle to be in peril'. --Sun Tzu

I know many of my Fellow III'pers will roll their eyes but I'm on Facebook and once I heard BJC had denounced us by name I had the spark of inspiration to make the "We are everywhere" version of the Gadsden flag my profile picure.

"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight!

"Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little bit more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor.

"Then, he used his fight money to buy two of every animal on earth, and then he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one!

"And from that day forward any time a bunch of animals are together in one place it's called a 'zoo'!

According to Robert Mueller at the FBI, “home-grown and lone-wolf extremists” are now just as big of a threat in this country as Al Qaeda.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/04/17/mueller-home-grown-extremists-threatening-al-qaeda/

Combined with Clinton's interview, I'd say its very clear they are stepping up the rhetoric as they move from ridicule to engagement.

Good advice Tom & Sun, on deception.

...And when you are small, aging & inconsequential, beat the bushes and create a blog. Talk. A lot.

The only bad thing about this is that when people or groups become scared, they are libel to lash out in fear. And act in less than sensible ways. When we are talking about the state and it's resources for committing violence, it can be a dangerous beasty indeed.

Not that we should stop sticking pins in said voodoo doll...

@ Toaster 802
"when people or groups become scared, they are libel to lash out in fear. And act in less than sensible ways."

The less sensible they act the better it looks for us as it causes them to appear more and more 'extreme' and desperate. Granted it could cause a rather violent reaction initiated by them, the scared party, that reaction would most likely be, as you said "less than sensible" and hopefully not as well planned as they do not appear to really "know their enemy" (see Tom's comment above) unless their understanding is more than they let on. But, if they are anything like the Wesley Mooches of Atlas Shrugged, they can not even begin to comprehend.

Addendum, if you read my blog (accessible by clicking on my name above) my latest entry "Recent Debate..." shows the understanding of the majority of these people and is an excellent demonstration of their rational capabilities (in my opinion).

I would also recommend-highly-to start becoming more active in local politics.

Nationally, and at state levels, the dem/rep political machine is just too entrenched and really owns the machinery. Scattered Patriots across America are just too few and too ineffectual to gain more than a handful of offices... and wind up doing mostly protest stances that result in about nothing.

For now, the beast relies mostly on local offices for most of the tyranny it imposes. Those local governments could conversely be used to shield the American People from that tyranny... well, short of the tanks rolling in but that's a discussion anyone reading this has had and is to this point irrelevant.

What's relevant? Taking back local offices to begin rolling back two centuries of accumulated tyranny.

Our problem is that we are still too few in number and too scattered across America to amount to much more than noisome protestors and God Forbid, resistance cells. So for a political rollback from local governments to work a SINGLE TOWN will have to be selected. A demonstrator of what Freedom is, and what we've lost advertised via media would spark such efforts from coast to coast.

To do this a smaller town with a corrupt local government infamous for being petty tyrants is selected. Everyone in driving distance combines their efforts on THAT SINGLE TOWN.

You start an emergency recall petition, bringing up the corruption issues.

The model I write of is GI's fresh from fighting Germany and Japan coming home to Athens, Tennessee in 1946: not going with the corruption they organized a FULL SLATE of candidates and won.

...The locals resorted to armed force to literally steal the ballots but they were local bully cops and the people they were denying their Rights to had combat experience. The bad guys lost.

This is the next logical political step. I drew up a couple articles about this here:

And they will lash out in fear, but then other people are swayed to the cause.

Yep. Keep in mind that there is no more vicious or underhanded a critter that your typical flaming liberal progressive. They possess the morals and standards of a hydrophobic mongrel dog (unfair to the dog, I know) and when cornered will lash out without regard to repercussions or consequences. So now is definitely not the time to let down our guard or be the least bit trusting of their better natures, cause they do not have such.
Y'all tread carefully and watch your six. High levels of op sec wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Toaster, being prepared for the beast to act stupidly is something Mike covers often in this blog.

As does Pete over at Westerrifleshooters.

You feel bad, but not bad enough
you know you had to coming ‘cause you played so rough
back over your shoulder, you’ve got an icy chill
man, you thought you’d get away with it
- now you know you never will

somebody, somebody
you’ve got a feeling, somebody’s following you

no one knows about the times you’ve had
you’ve been so evil; you’ve been so bad
there’s the devil to pay for what you put them through
and you’ve got a feeling somebody’s following you

somebody, somebody
you’ve got a feeling, somebody’s following you
somebody, somebody
you’ve got a feeling, somebody’s following you

there’s a jack-o’-lantern moon in the midnight sky
somebody’s gonna live; somebody’s gonna die
down in the graveyard on that old tombstone,
there’s a big black crow and it’s calling you home

somebody, somebody
you’ve got a feeling, somebody’s following you
somebody, somebody
you’ve got a feeling, somebody’s following you

Saul also went to his home at Gibeah, and with him went men of valor whose hearts God had touched.

Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the LORD.

May the Lord put steel in our bones!

Jesus Christ ~ the root of personal & national freedom & liberty

The Root & the Fruit

“On the basis of who he was and what he accomplished, Jesus made his demands. The demands cannot be separated from his person and work. The obedience he demands is the fruit of his redeeming work and the display of his personal glory. That is why he came — to create a people who glorify his gracious reign by bearing the fruit of his kingdom (Matt. 21:43).”

Gunning for the Government
Mike Vanderboegh, 56

Back in the 1990s, Mike Vanderboegh used to go to some lengths to portray himself as a moderate in the world of antigovernment militias, even though he once wrote about the utility of snipers and using "violence carefully targeted and clearly defensive." In 1996, for instance, he joined many militia leaders in signing a document distancing the movement from racists and neo-Nazis.

That was then. This spring, he started to sound a little different.

On March 19, Vanderboegh, enraged at the imminent passage of health care reform, furiously called on Americans to break the windows of local Democratic Party headquarters offices around the country. "[I]f you wish to send a message that [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and her party cannot fail to hear, break their windows," the Pinson, Ala., blogger wrote. "Break them NOW. Break them and run to break again. Break them under cover of night. Break them in broad daylight."

Over the next few days, party office windows and those of several members of Congress were indeed smashed with bricks in several states, criminal attacks followed with glee by Vanderboegh in his blog's "Window War" feature.

After his time as a militia enthusiast, Vanderboegh in the mid-2000s took to patrolling the Mexican border with his own tiny Alabama Minuteman Support Team. More recently, he has been described as the co-founder of the Three Percenters, a loose alliance of gun owners who vow not to surrender their rights and disarm. The name refers to the 3% of American colonists believed to have been the portion of the population who actively opposed England. Three Percenters also claim to represent the hardest-line 3% of U.S. gun owners.

Vanderboegh's website, Sipsey Street Irregulars, warns that "the collectivists who now control the government" should leave gun owners alone "if they wish to continue unfettered oxygen consumption." He claims the website has garnered more than 1 million visits.

Vanderboegh declined an interview for this article in a lengthy E-mail attacking the Southern Poverty Law Center as "lying, conflationist bastards." Nevertheless, Vanderboegh, who used his website to promote his interview with a television station, ended his E-mail by writing, "Thank you in advance for all the free publicity."

Good post. By the way, Stewart Rhodes pulled Oath Keepers away from the Apr.19th event. No Oath Keepers are to wear hats, T-shirts, etc. Too bad. They are losing membership again. Go check it out. http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2010/04/13/oath-keepers-withdraws-from-virginia-open-carry-rally/
