I figured this was coming. Collectivists push their propaganda advantage on the Confederate flag hysteria.

Confederate Ideology and the Second Amendment

Wow, no conflation there. To Charles Reid, Nullification=2A=slavery, end of 'argument.'

I wonder if Mr. Reid is in favor of the Alien and Sedition Acts? Is Mr. Reid aware that Nullification first raised its head with the Kentucky Resolution of 1798, penned by Thomas Jefferson? Oh, but Jefferson was a slave-holder, and so obviously evil to the core. Then how about the Virginia Resolution of the same year, written by James Madison - who may have known a thing or two about what the constitution did or didn't say or mean. Both were distinctly and specifically about state nullification of federal diktats. Both long predated the battle over southern tariffs.

The view that Nullification was somehow invented in the 19th century to defend slavery is a sure sign of being unwilling to look at both sides of an issue. I suspect Mr. Reid is completely and purposefully unaware that Nullification has been used to promote ANTI-slavery measures, as when in 1850 the Vermont legislature passed the "Habeas Corpus Law," requiring Vermont officials to assist rather than return fugitive slaves, in nullification of the federal Fugitive Slave Act. The Wisconsin state supreme court followed in 1854 when it declared the Fugitive Slave Act unconstitutional, and thus NULL and void.

None of this information is in any way arcane, none of it stinks of tinfoil. But none of it supports Mr. Reid's view of Nullification's 'sordid' history, so down the memory hole it goes.

And none of it has anything real to do with the 2A, anyway. What a transparent piece of 'progressive' agitprop.

Sounds like a Joseph Goebbels wannabe to me and another 2nd repealer wishing for a blood bath.

Effective state nullification was essentially lost with the passage of the 16th and 17th amenements to the constitution. With the 16th the federal government became the central holder of the pursestrings. When Fedgov can bypass a state and dip directly into the citizens wallet for it's money then it can dole it out to whomever it wishes. Anyone really believe the two houses of congress can regulate the leviathan created in the 20th century and insure fair and equitable distribution of revenues? Waiting for an answer. Crickets.

One last thing. Anyone who believes we Americans live in a land where there is Rule of Law is living in a fantasy world. Rule of Law is now a Myth.

Today they come to ban the Confederate battle flag. If they can pull this off then they will go for guns next. This creep has caused a lot of damage.
Take my word for it. This is way bigger than some 154 year old flag. They are not going to stop at the flag. They smell blood in the water and will go for a lot more than this.

Exactly. They will never stop. They're like the Terminator -- you cannot bargain with them, reason with them, placate them.

They are adept at what they do, following the template of their icon Alinsky. Identify a target and isolate it from support and sympathy. Right now it's the Confederate flag, but in truth they seek the destruction of anything and everything that stands contrary to their world view. It's not just historical symbols they intend to purge from the bounds of polite company. They'll be moving onto all symbols and artifacts of white identity (whether explicitly "white" or not) such as national flags of European countries. That movement is already apace there, as the English Defence League has discovered with their use of the St. George flag of England.

Alabama Gov. Bentley removes Confederate flags from Capitol grounds
http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2015/06/confederate_flag_removed_from.html

I don’t know what law or legal precedence
backs it up, other than the fact that Alabama’s
state government is completely
overrun by traitorous communists.

Think out of the box about the flag issue. All of the Liberal assholes and traitor
politicians are jumping on the band wagon right along with the Lame Stream Media and all the blacks. (And it seems that everyone that's black from Charleston to San Francisco is having prayer vigils or gatherings and are preachers) Obviously there's a shit load of them that don't have jobs they need to go to !!

So, go ahead and take the flags down and appease the jigs and their supporters, and watch how effective that will be in eliminating racial strife and blacks killing and preying on blacks. Take the flag down and everything will be just hunky dory.

And if you believe that, you probably believe that politicians are honest and none of them lie through their teeth every time they open their mouths.
