"You won – NRA reveals real stripes."

Dave Picard, a Wyoming based “lobbyist for hire”, testified on how badly this legislation was needed — and that with it the National Instant Check System (NICS) & previous federal gun control acts could be finally fixed. And guess who was ‘flown in’ special for the gun control party? None other than the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) own lobbyist, Dakota Moore. But the NRA was not here in Wyoming to testify against gun control. Instead just the opposite — the NRA sat at the table with Dave Picard — and in FULL SUPPORT of “Enhancing Background Checks”.

I quit the NRA years ago. I don't even remember why. They keep giving me good reasons to quit, though. Hey, NRA, I give all I can to Gun Owners of America. They do what the Nra should be doing.

Anyone still sending money to the NRA might as well cut a check to "Hillary 2016", too.

Gun Owners of America is where my money and support goes.

I don't know what it will take to get narcoleptic gun owners to dump NRA in favor of organizations that actually oppose gun control...

Had doubts. So I delayed re-upping with the NRA. Now my hesitation seems to be justified. Have they been infiltrated by leftists?

Hi Mike,
As with the above comments, I opted out of the NRA a few years ago. As I recall, they black balled you and Dave Codrea at one of their getogethers. 'Been with the GOA since. No $$ to NRA from me. We have to remember that it's $$$$$ that really make things work!! To steal a line or two from the movie "The Right Stuff," "'Ya' know what makes those airplanes fly???? 'FUNDING!'... No Bucks, No Buck Rogers!!"

The Navy Yard shooter had a security clearance that cost thousands of dollars to run.

For those that do not as of yet understand what the NRA truly is, I op to stay inside to find those whose minds can be liberated. Make no mistake, I am sickened by that quisling ASSociation. That said, there are those that can be found, as I have already suggested, who can still be woken, and I will win them over for my own "back yard". As an "anti NRA" guy, the uninformed lowly member supporter who thinks the NRA does mean something that it truly doesn't, the message will not be given any attention. As an "insider" I have the opportunity to bring the message of the liberty and freedom movement of the restoration of the Republic as the Founders intended, and I so intend to misbehave. Oh how the so called "pro-gun" statists despise me.

Say what you will, but I will find some.

While I am grateful to Mike for opening my eyes to the backstabbing that passes for gun rights advocacy in the NRA, I am sorely disappointed by the apathy I see in response.

I too send money to the GOA, and a few others as well. That is all good and well, but the NRA is the household name that makes gun owners, mushy congresscritters, media bobbleheads and Suzie Soccermoms alike perk their ears and take notice. To abandon such a powerful and well-established organization to our enemies is exactly the sort of foolishness that will lose us this war.

If the NRA has been co-opted, or if it has always been a tool of the enemy, THEN CO-OPT IT BACK!

We have seen the Zumbos and Morses of the world flattened, and yet the best we can do is walk away when an outrage like this stares us in the face? Leave the 4.5 million NRA members (who are presumably trying to do the right thing) to be manipulated as tools of the enemy? Am I really hearing this?

Have we not already seen enough examples of the political potency of hard core gun owners when aroused to a cause? We have already shown that we know what to do. Why are we not doing it here?

We need to send emails with the link to this article from wyominggunowners.com! Call! Vent our rage! Attend the next annual meeting and vote out the Quisling bastards in the Board of Directors!

On that note, Mike, in the unlikely event that you're in short supply of material, what I'd LOVE to see from a trusted source such as yourself is some write-ups on who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in the NRA, as well as your thoughts on the next crop of candidates for the Board of Directors.

If we will not fight for something so simple and glaringly obvious as control of the NRA then what the hell are we about?
