"From Ukraine, through Afghanistan and Iraq all the way to the East China Sea, the world's dictatorships and terror groups smell weakness in Washington. They have adjusted their posture accordingly."
Welcome to Obama's world. "Above all else, leadership is about being there, having your hand firmly on the rudder and letting everyone know what you stand for and what you won't stand for. Sound like Barack Obama? Nope/"
I don't have a lot of time for analysis this morning since I'm dead beat from yesterday's lightning trip to Mississippi and back again on family business, and have to get on a plane to Massachusetts soon (and have to write a speech before I do) but I'd like to make a prediction on Iraq. The current crop of medieval death cult worshipers moving on Baghdad will be defeated, in the end, crushed in the vise of an Iranian intervention (which we will assist with air power if we do anything -- isn't that a jarring prospect?) and the Kurds falling on their rear. The Kurds are already securing Kirkuk and other traditionally Kurdish areas, moving in and picking up abandoned bases and weapons left behind by the hapless, hopeless Shiites of the Al Maliki government army (who are reported to be wearing civilian clothes beneath their uniforms even on the streets of the capitol now). The Kurds will make use of this opportunity to secure their independence and they will likely succeed, since they understand the threat posed to them by a new Caliphate. (Of course, with the Caliphate forces defeated, the Iranians will turn on them, but that is another future chapter of the Woodrow Wilson-inspired modern tragedy of the Kurds). If the Israelis don't assist the Kurds in this they will fritter away a huge opportunity. This also has, strangely, made possible a tactical alliance between the Kurds and their traditional enemies the Turks and the third part of the nutcracker could well be a Turkish intervention, with the assistance of the Kurds, to free their embassy people in Mosul.
Ironically, if the new Caliphate forces are defeated, it will largely be due to the most despised and military resource starved Kurds (deliberately by the US) who will pull Obama's hairless chestnuts out of the fire.

Dont forget that the Turks hate the Kurds and would love to set up their own version of the Caliphate under the former Ottoman rule. For as much as I would love to see Barry fall on his face again for the sake of "I told you so's", I would much rather see a free and autonomous Kurdistan. Sure hope they make it.
Dinesh Desouza in his film, 2016 Obama's America, foretold much of what we are witnessing.
Sadly, few Americans would take heed.
I expect that the economy will tank before he leave office and that will precipitate utter chaos, perhaps an attempt at martial law and then, a "savoir' will rise from the rubble to assert he will 'make the trains run on time".
History repeats.
