Rick Perry's War On The Blue States

Ya, problem is Rick Perry is just as much a statist as Obama. He's a collectivist wrapped in an American flag pretending to be "conservative" (or maybe he's not pretending...."conservatives" nowadays are all about more and bigger government while infringing on the rights enshrined in the constitution).

Texas gun laws are anything but respectful of the 2A and much of their policy with regards to the 4A is atrocious. It's not nearly as "free" as Texans would have us believe....and their "everything is bigger in Texas" egos won't allow any real self-examination of the system they support without understanding...apparently.

Recently I attended the NRA's Annual Meetings, which were held in the largest auditorium/convention center in Texas, the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. There were over 86,000 in attendance. If you were from a state whose carry permit was honored by Texas, you were allowed to carry your concealed firearm inside the convention center legally. There were no metal detectors and no patdowns. We in Alabama think our gun laws are good - and they're pretty good. But, even Alabamians with carry permits are not allowed to carry concealed guns legally inside our convention center in Birmingham. So, I think Texas's gun laws might actually be pretty good. But, they do have some ridiculous concealed knife carry laws. I will say that Rick Perry seems to have a bigger pair of spheres than Alabama's Governor Robert Bentley, though. I still wish we had elected Tim James.

It's cute seeing the National Propaganda Radio slant on this. "War?" You ain't seen war, honey. But I have to point out that, unavoidably, importing even freedom-loving businesses to TX involves importing a certain number of Blue Staters. Colorado can tell you how well that works.
