'Firing squad professor' apologizes--that's not going to cut it

More importantly, remember that he is a journalism professor. He is teaching the next generation of "authorized journalists." Does that not seem rather chilling? Can he be trusted to teach his students about the vital need to refrain from abusing the media's power to amplify their voices, to call for the oppression--the government-imposed extinction--of their political enemies? I, frankly, am not that trusting.

Think maybe he's beginning to realize that the Clinton ROE just might apply to him?

Nah, he's not that bright.

At least he has a clue; the rest of the poliacademedia lack even that.

Prayers continue...

To some extent Hofmann is on target here (so to speak). There is a current "movement" under development at many of the universities, propagated by the most ardent narcissistic collectivist administrators and donor pool, called "Civility". The ultimate goal is apparently to promote massive pacification in nearly everything--thoughts, actions, etc. It's confusing in many respects until you recall events such as Kent State, and how the LACK of civility levered group think at the time. For those too young to remember Ohio, think Tian'anmen Square.

While this idiot is foaming at the mouth uncontrollably, he probably is getting some pressure from Skynet. Fact is, you don't suppress or change his run-of-the-mill polarized hate. As my father used to say, this pond scum merely "let his ass overload his mouth."

Ark - while there may be some similarities between KS and TS, there is one very glaring difference: the 'students' at KS were actively harassing (to say the least)the NG troopers and had been doing so for an extended period (the 'unrest' was the main reason the NG was called in), the ones at TS were being totally passive.
Otherwise, your commentary was spot on, anyone who believes that herr professor was NOT stating what many hoplophobes truly believe. And I don't imagine anyone (at least on this sire) believes that there is not a concerted, well conceived and implemented by the 'progs'

Professor Swindell:

You may save your apology for your trial at Nuremberg II. Perhaps it
will gain you a more lenient sentence than the one handed down at the
original Nuremberg trial to your spiritual predecessor, Julius
Streicher. As you may know, Streicher was another "journalist" who
served the socialist regime to which he had sold himself by helping
propagandise for the mass murder of a politically inconvenient minority.

Of course, if the civil war you and your fellow collectivists are so
hell-bent on fomenting comes to pass despite the best efforts of the
rest of us, you may not have to wait for a trial. You may thank Bill
Clinton for that, who, during the Serbian campaign, changed the rules of
engagement to make journalists who provided propaganda support for the
enemy regime legitimate targets of war.

Like the man said, if you pick a side, you're along for the ride. If
you're not comfortable with that, you may want to confine yourself to
journalism and lay off the pro-regime propaganda.

Anonymous doesn't know much about Tiananmen Square; and making excuses for what happened at Kent State is unbelievable. One does not shoot people for harrassment.

As to this professor, the only surprising thing was not his attitude (all in the Ministry of Propaganda share it), but in owning up to it publicly.

Interesting that even Russians are starting to get fed up with those who abuse them...and have said if it comes to civil war they won't be on the State's side:

http://globalvoicesonline.org/2013/06/03/all-hail-russias-heroic-cop-killers/

and these people use their real names on Russian Facebook too! I guess Russia is less of a police state than the U.S. now!
