Dorner is dead, now. So, no, you don't get a new truck, and yes, we lied. Just be glad we didn't kill you.
More militarized police follies: No New Truck for Women Shot During Dorner Manhunt.
According to Jonas, LAPD and Galpin Ford wanted his clients to pose for a photo opportunity and pay income tax on the truck. The women no longer want the truck after they were told they needed to fill out a 1099 form for the donation, Jonas said Monday.
"You tried to murder the woman, now you're telling her she can't have a four-wheel drive, you're telling her she can't sell it and you've got to be taxed on it?" Jonas said. "How would anyone react to that?"

Their hands are tied on this because of the I.R.S. I am not defending the L.A.P.D. or even the Ford dealership on this. I am just pointing out that yes the greedy gov't wants part of that pie. The City of Los Angeles will settle out of court. They will end up with a lot more than a new truck.
Actually, the LAPD finally got a clue and offered a ludacrous cash settlement, which if it were me, I'd tell them to stuff it where the sun don't shine. After all, one women was shot...twice.

However.......
quote:"It's really sad for us because we want to help these women move on with their lives, and help them move forward with that, we just can't get past the 1099 issue," LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith said. "The government has to take their bite out of it, I guess." unquote
Sad. Sad for the LAPD cause she refuses to take the bribe because of the IRS taxes. Fucking priceless.

The LAPD pumps over 100 rounds into the womans truck with impunity, two of which wound one woman , and the LAPD is sad over this issue. I'm almost fucking speechless. Living in a Parallel Universe of Clueless Buffoons notwithstanding, I'd submit the LAPD is lucky she's not going for the LAPD's Chief of Police's jugular vein, if not attempted murder on behalf of the dimwit cops who, in a moment of "stress", emptied at least 3 (30) round magazines in a New York second.
Ya know, day after day after day, I see the "law enforcement" ethos of "kill and ask questions later". Amongst thousands of other daily incidents around the country where pond scum cops under the color of law, cause loss of life, liberty, and property while incurring pain, suffering, and emotional duress of innocent citizens, I'd submit the REAL organized criminals are the LE of this nation. This one example alone should be enough to illicit a public riot of biblical proportions, if not a lynching party. They're not just out of control, they're a rampaging rabid campaign of misery and mayhem. Don't believe me? Simply take a gander at hundreds of "cops out of control" videos on youtube and you'll rest my case.

what happened to the shot-up truck? we should buy it and use it as a showpiece for an out of control police force.
Very good idea, Allen. If you live in the LA area, my condolences, and I hope you and others can make that happen.
daniel,
nope, not in la-la-land. live free or die state here. just because it happened out there, doesn't mean it can't be illustrative for the entire country.
kind of on the same theme as that bombed out bus the israeli ZAKA group were carting around the US.
