Prayer request.

Folks,

I received this from a good friend this morning:

Our grandson, Liam (Stephanie's 11 month old baby) had surgery yesterday to relieve the physical condition of being 'tongue tied' and to also explore a respiratory issue as he was diagnosed with some sort of respiratory condition that has caused him to have to fight for every breath he's taken since birth.

During the surgery to correct his tongue, the surgeons found about a 2 inch long blockage they believe is congenital along his vocal chords that reduces his air intake by 40% or so from what is considered 'normal'. They cannot surgically correct it at this time because of his age and the size of the abnormality and the subsequent serious complications it would most likely cause.

He's recovering well from his tongue surgery; his mother told me he was sticking his little tongue out pretty far when she was playing with him.

He was supposed to go home with his mother today after a night of observation of his oxygen level intake, which the doctors' felt would occur, but they wanted to be sure. Stephanie told me that the doctors' are keeping Liam until his oxygen level stays at an acceptable level. This has yet to occur. They have him in a bed that has oxygen is blowing directly across his immediate breathing area (nose, mouth) when he sleeps, his blood oxygen level drops to levels that alarm the medical staff. He has not yet been put on direct oxygen with the tubes by his nose and is not yet considered critical.

I don't normally ask people for prayer.

This time, I am asking you to take a minute and say a prayer for little Liam that if it's in God's will, He will touch Liam and bring him back to health.

Thank you.

So pray for little Liam, folks. I will.

You didn't even have to ask. With every bead that passes through our fingers daily we will beg for this little one to "be made whole".

Always ask for prayers.

Done.

I also will add him to our prayers of the people tomorrow at Mass. I don't know if I'm reading Morning Office or if our priest is going to be back on duty. He's been off on a vacation and is back in town, but I don't know if he'll be back to work yet.

Either way, Liam will be raised up in prayer, and added to the prayer list at our parish.

Prayer humbly submitted by a man already brought to his knees a few years ago in utter helplessness and faith in God by my own child's condition. Our prayers were answered by a wonderful team of doctors blessed with a depth of knowledge and instinct and medicines made possible by our Creator. I pray the same joyous outcome for your family and a speedy recovery for the beautiful child Liam.
