Another country heard from . . .

So, my name came up in the comments to this story.

I never understood people so in love with their own ideas that they lack a basic curiosity about other sources of information and views. In my opinion, it is the height of ignorance to sit in front of FOX all day and then listen to Rush Limbaugh or some other hater/name caller and think one is "educating" ones self.

I have always availed myself of conservative ideas, albeit those expressed intelligently by scholars who have produced respected, peer reviewed research. I have as much contempt for sloppy, inaccurate left wing smear and hyperbole as I do for that on the right!!

People have been subject to a barrage of hateful propaganda by the organized right which is intimately connected to the GOP. This is beyond dispute. Many GOP elected officials routinely stump for the tea parties and repeat the lies and myths often heard on FOX news publicly. They use violent innuendo such as "don't retreat, reload" and “You’ve got to make the fella scared to come out of his house,” a public campaign statement to supporters by Allen West of Florida referring to his election opponent Ron Klein.

Apparently, there are many disciples of the "Sarah Palin School of Public Rhetoric" spewing violent speech. This is frequently called "dog whistling," a subtle message to supporters that what was formerly unacceptable is now ok. In essence, it's a covert plea to take the gloves off.

"West’s mentor Sarah Palin is also no stranger to using violent references in her communications. Palin last month unveiled a national political map using rifle crosshairs to mark the members of Congress across the country who supported healthcare reform. “West and his mentor Sarah Palin are shamefully stoking violent language and symbolism that threatens the safety of our leaders and public officials,” Ceasar said. “The hard working people of South Florida know that inciting people with extreme and violent language sometimes leads to far more violent and monstrous acts. It’s sad that Allen West and Sarah Palin lack the basic decency, common sense and responsibility to realize this.”

Mike Vanderboegh, former leader of the Alabama Constitutional Militia, recently called for hundreds of thousands of gun owners to "point their muzzles at the hearts of tyrants" when discussing ways to oppose recent congressional legislation. Reports have come out linking Vanderboegh's statements to recent violence against Democratic Party offices.

Over the past two years there has been several violent incidents linked to official, organized right wing agitation. Shootings and other violent acts were knowingly inspired by violent public pronouncements by popular figures in the GOP and other conservative activists. The American people are turned off by all the agitation to violence. It isn't part of our heritage.

While his ancestors were bowing an scraping to potentates and landlords, mine where here building America with their bare hands, dying and killing to defend it (ca AD1620, Massachusetts Bay Colony and the Pilgrim Fathers).

Of course he missed Dear Reader's "It's time to get in their face -- if they bring a knife, we'll bring a gun" and other, similar rhetoric.

Then there's the "find a conservative, slam a face through a plate glass window, snap a picture and send it out in a Christmas card" bit from the left-wing "journo-list" forum.

Of course, we should also ignore the simple fact that every single bit of actual violence in all the numerous, recent protests has been lefty thugs -- mostly lefty UNION thugs -- assaulting conservatives.

The original article says the Pelosi-Reid agenda is withering and dying -- when Obama just created a HUGE bureaucracy to oversee Wall Street financials -- and not for OUR protection, either, but to make sure the income taxes and all other taxes get paid. That's like ... nationalizing it. Like nationalizing another 1/6 of the economy, the health care industry. Both moves are going to increase costs, slow or stop job creation, and put Uncle Slime's tentacles further into everyone's pockets.
The Leftists have read Sun Tzu: "When you are strong, appear weak."
Poor little Democrats. Nobody likes them, nobody listens to them, they're gonna take their ball and go home.
Commenters have it right. Until they stop imposing more controls and cut taxes and regulations instead of thinking up brand-new ones, the economy will continue its death spiral. Then they say "Whoa, don't blame us! What's all this talk about resistance? We need to clamp down harder, apparently -- IF we were clamping down at all, which we're not."
Their denials are wearing thin, as are those of their pseudo-con accomplices.

My congressman, Eric "PATRIOT Act" Cantor, refused to join the Tea Party caucus, apparently in an NRA-like attempt to appeal to real conservatives and libertarians AND people like Steve. Maybe I should call him Congressman Rohrshach. A blot in which you might see a variety of things.

Speeches given by conservatives (Tancredo and Coulter spring to mind) are routinely disrupted to the point of cancellation by leftist activists.

Leftist activists called in bomb threats to see that the last American Reconnaissance conference could not take place.

Leftists chide us to be tolerant of Muslims, even as this group massacres Americans in the name of Allah.

The left has absolutely no room to lecture anyone on the political use of violence. But if push comes to shove, they'll find that we're better at it than they are.

The 100 year long progressive experiment is OVER, some folks are having difficulty with that.

They have several choices. Leave America and go to some other progressive hell hole, re=educate themselves, or be sanctioned with extreme prejudice.

Wonder what America this fellow has been living in and he MUST have missed history class. There was the war for Independence, the war of 1812, the Civil War, Indian Wars, Whiskey makers shooting Tax Collectors, Saturday night fights, the various groups thruout our history fighting for what they thought was "right", simply put violence has been around since Caleb killed his brother. We have various fighting matches on TV that draw millions weekly. Just where has this fellow been? If things do not "CHANGE" soon, he might get to see violence for free in the US by simply tuning into local news.

Mike this is from a posting you did a few days ago.

We are no longer one nation or one people. Rather, there are now two Americas: one conservative, the other liberal. Increasingly, we no longer just disagree but we despise each other.

I think it would be more like three or four different peoples.

And this is comment that I made a few days before that.

Mike, the time for words has passed,they won´t listen. They only hear what they want to hear so that they can turn and twist anything that we would say to them to warn them of the perils that await us all. They Lie and Ridicule AND then Say that We are the Dangerous Ones that We are the Radicals.
I am tired of watching there arrogance,and waiting for them to make that fatal miscalculation in our patience. Let them make THAT mistake that error, LET THE RESTORATION BEGIN.

Why do we Bother listening any more. It only aggravates us,not them they don´t have sense enough to get aggravated.
They don´t have any knowledge of this counties history or traditions. Hell man they don´t even know the meaning of Christmas. If you said to one of them ¨to enjoy the fruit of your labor¨they would be so confused that they wouldn´t even hear anything you say afterwards.

So all we can do now is keep preparing and be ready when they make that fatal error and push that last time. We both know it´s coming Collectivists and Tyrants don´t have the sense to have caution.
It raises my blood pressure reading such dribble from Idiots like this. And yes I do DISPISE these people. And I hope that God will forgive me for this hatred. I do Try to be a good Christian but the Utter Disgust I feel for people like this Steve is beyond my control.
