Yup, and years after every gun is gone from this country (I don't really see it happening, just for the sake of argument...) knives will be next on the chopping block; yes, the pun was intended.

He might as well give up already. Those people have been defenseless for too long.

Dailey is nothing if not persistent. Time for round three.

Let's see, Daley, a thug, wants to keep the citizens of Chicago virtually unarmed, except for his fellow thugs.

This is not a surprise.

"Daley said. "We are a country of laws not a nation of guns."

W-T-F!!!
If it wasn't for this "nation of guns", he'd be an unguarded, unarmed serf under British rule.
How does he manage to walk, talk and breath all at the same time?

President Ford, arguably not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and not well known for his grace and eloquence, could put together a more logical statement than that.

Anyone else notice that all these cities with these insane restrictions are places where criminals outnumber Citizens?

No wonder they have the insane laws they have.

I can't comprehend how any right-minded person would live in such a place. Personally, I refuse to even work in a place that will not recognize my G*d-given right to self-defense.

I agree - such tyrants should be hanged from the nearest suitable device.

Notice that Hizzonner doesn't even bother with the fig leaf of public safety. He's "making it difficult to purchase and own a gun in Chicago". Not "keeping dangerous weapons from dangerous people", not "keeping guns 'off the street'", not "protecting children, puppies and kittens". Nope he's just making it difficult to purchase and own a gun in Chicago.

And what is with this "nations of laws" folderol. If he really believe that, he'd be obeying the letter and spirit of the McDonald decision. Actions speak louder than works Dickie-boy.

Daley wanted Meigs Field, a small feeder airport on Lake Michigan. By law, he couldn't take it. The FAA had control and refused to close the field for him.

So in the middle of the night, he sent in bulldozers that dug up huge chunk of the runway, making the airport unusable. The FCC and the feds tried to stop it, but Daley persisted, and so an airport that was an important part of Chicago, and an historical place, was wiped out because el Mayor wanted it and took it.

He'll do the same thing here. Try to change the gun laws in his city, and you'll just spin your wheels. He could care less if he's breaking any laws - HE'S THE MAYOR!
