The gathering place for a merry band of Three Percenters. (As denounced by Bill Clinton on CNN!)
What's the rifle doing that suggests it needs a rebarrel?
Not sure of the condition, but Centerfiresystems has 'em listed:http://www.centerfiresystems.com/YUGOPRT1.aspxHere's another place:http://www.surplusbunker.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=6_7TD
Mike,I found some at buymilsurp.com - http://www.buymilsurp.com/sks-rifle-parts-accessories-yugoslav-m5966-c-6_7.htmlI haven't bought one myself so I can't vouch for the quality, but here's what they say about it:Barrel EXCELLENT Bore Yugo SKS 59/66 RifleBarrel with Excellent Bore, sharp rifling, shiny bore. Barrel is attached to Receiver Stub (cut). . Original YUGO SKS 49/56 Parts.Best of luck!Jeff
http://www.centerfiresystems.com/ barreled receiver 69.95. Hope it helps
The hardest part is finding a gunsmith with the Barrel vise for it. I replaced the Barrel on my Mosin with a spare from www.buymilsurp.comGreat service and quick. I ended up having to "rig" a barrel vise for it though.
My gunsmith condemned the barrel as unserviceable due to throat erosion. The old barrel is already off the receiver.I have zero dollars in it as it was given to me in hopeless condition.I want to try a project with it.Thanks for the tips, guys.MikeIII
Good general info here:http://www.fulton-armory.com/TEGauge.htm-SIII
Mike, I know you don't have a lot of money to throw around but check this out:https://www.samcoglobal.com/1-sks.htmlUse the stock you have with this and have a complete set of spares.
