The feds used a similar device on a US naval vessel at NOLA during the Katrina disaster.

Part of FEMA's op plan was to disrupt non-fed commo to prevent resistance.

Local LE had to march fema goons out of telcos at gunpoint to prevent them from screwing with land-lines.

This guy was running back and forth on a major highway outside of Tampa, FL. His jammer was literally blanking cell phone towers, police and emergency bands. They caught him when he drove past a sheriff cars and their radios blanked out.

So, who in your local militia is in charge of understanding electronic warfare and electronic counter measures? How effective would the local SWAT be if they were denied tactical comms? How effective would your militia be without tactical comms?

Hmmmmmmm. In the 'novel' I'm writing, purely for entertainment purposes, people will use these against the .gubmint types.

Interesting to the point that this is exactly what the FEDS will do first when TSHTF. But they cannot silence communication when we have hams (Amateur Radio operators). A radio, battery, and a piece of wire and presto---we have communication that will not be silenced by executive order. Sorry Bo-Zo.

We had jammers when I was in the Army 40+ years ago. They were so sophisticated that if you were being jammed and changed your radio frequency, the jammer could follow you as you tried to escape the jammer. I would imagine the technology has improved a lot thru the years. Wouldn't take much to jam the BLM radios (and other 3 letter fed agencies). Beat them at their own game.

Interesting. Definitely another project to look into. Could prove useful.

these come in five or six sizes, the most commonly sold ones (in the uk) are about the same size as a cellphone and good for about 30m radius. for $100 all those phones in the cafe suddenly go "no signal".

Actually, Anonymous at May 2, 2014 at 3:07 PM, the Feds are quite able to silence hams as well, should they choose to do so. They have jamming equipment that can so totally overwhelm your transmitting capability that they don't even need to be NEAR you. And that goes for every other radio frequency as well.

All animals are "equal", but some are MORE "equal" than others. Isn't it interesting that in Animal Farm, it was the pigs who were MORE equal???
