Logistics: "Ammunition still difficult to find in wake of Sandy Hook shootings."

More arming to the teeth and buying a spare pair of dentures. You'd think somebody expects trouble.

Gun owners found out at the last panic supplies of all things firearms related are thin when demand picks up beyond normal levels and how quickly the shelves become bare. There are thousands of new gun owners every month coming into our area of interest and they want ammo and accessories along with the firearms. New ammunition manufacturing capacity is coming on stream but it takes time to set up the assembly line and equipment. Plus prices of component raw materials are subject to the pressures of the world demand and supply situation. It'll be at lease a couple years before supplies and prices return to pre Sandy Hook levels assuming there are no more brutal, evil, mad domestic mass shootings.

Ammo shortages have been severe at times here in S D, but for the most part I have seen good supplies of everything except 22LR.

What is crazy, is the cost. Reloading is difficult with certain and most primers hit & miss, powder .... maybe if your not picky, bullets ... again, may not be what you want.

Drudge has up a link about the postal service looking to make a large ammunition purchase. You know, the same postal service that is BORROWING tax dollars because it's losing money as a business model.

They aren't looking for trouble, IMO; having shutdown the last lead smelter in America, they are about to ban the importation of lead by executive order...
