Cuomo toady desperately deflecting on Remington story.
Remington Arms to open factory in Alabama; Cuomo aide says no jobs leaving NY.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi posted this on Twitter at 8:30 p.m.:
"Some are misinformed, others gleefully spreading misinformation, but to be clear, no Remington jobs are leaving NY."
Perhaps, for now, but they're not adding THESE jobs to NY then, are they? They are also creating the flexibility to tell NY goodbye in a couple of years. Serves the collectivist suckers right.

I find it interesting that during the 1st Civil War the North had most of the arms manufacturing facilities. Now the Yankees are making it difficult to impossible for arms manufacturers to conduct business and they are moving to the South and other States who believe in liberty and the rule of law under the Constitution.
Let's face it, the enemies of the Constitution are criminals. They have made a concerted effort to deprive "We the People" of our God given and Constitutionally guaranteed rights. This puts them at odds with the law of the land the "Constitution of the United States.
On another blog an opinion was that R will use the new plant to increase production capacity for current demand.
But when demand finally lets up, the excess capacity will be taken off line from the Ilion facility.
Cuomo probably hopes that will happen after he's left office for some cushy private position.
Cuomo is whistling in the gloom. He might want to consider Magpul/CO, Boeing/WA etc. He might also regret his not having recanted/apologised for his "conservatives not welcome in NY" rant.
I honestly do not know what the gun laws are like in Alabama, but they have to be better than the outright head-in-the-paper-bag stupidity that passes for law in NY, especially with Cuomo's SAFE act. The people in the northern part of NY are so upset by these new laws that they are moving away in droves. NY has always been two sides of the same coin-we know about the NYC area as a matter of course. People in the northern portions mostly want to be able to hunt, fish, target shoot, and enjoy the outdoors like much of the free world. Unfortunately, NYC controls the legislature in Albany, so they have that stupid Sullivan Law for pistol permits. You need to hire a lawyer to even attempt to get a pistol permit. If you are refused; no reason is needed or given; the exorbitant fees are not refunded. It is a money making scheme for sheriffs. Even if you are somehow able to get a state permit, it is not valid in NYC. They have their own version, at huge cost and only with political connections.
I would bet that a lot of those folks in Ilion would like to give Alabama a try. I would also bet that they would enjoy it. Anyone who knows about Alabama's pistol regulations? People ask me on a regular basis how gun-friendly the Southern states are? Thanks.
ag42b and anyone else interested:
USA carry has info on which states honor which permits and what the requirements are.
Don't know about AL, but the info on TN is correct.

You all may be interested in knowing that half of those idiots who work at Remington are DemcoRATS and voted for this commie Cuomo. I know as I live near the plant in Ilion and run into a lot of these union minded commies who work there...they are self defeating . . . NYS deserves to lose Remington Arms after 200 years.
Nope. No jobs from Remington have left NY. . . . . Yet.

I ran out of fingers to count on and had to take off my shoes. $80,000,000 for only 5,000 sniper rifles figures out to only a mere $16,000 each. Looks like the Gubmint is trying to buy some loyalty considering those super-sized prices.
Mike,
I have less than a fifty percent success rate proving that I'm not a robot. I must be dyslexic or something. Or robots are just that much smarter! I can't cypher the wavy letters. Is there any other option?
Remington will milk the current Government Contracts, and slowly move most manufacturing to Alabama. Within a couple years only the shotguns and 700 rifles will be made in Ilion. All the other stuff will go to Alabama.
As the workforce at Ilion ages the numbers of employees will dwindle, while the Alabama Plant will grow and prosper. The retirees will still get their pensions and move to Florida. Ilion will look like the rest of upstate NY, rustbelt buildings and abandoned farms.
Last one to leave turn out the lights please, if they still work.

As always, FWIW.
Cant wait to buy a new Remington shotgun stamped Made in America instead of some yankee hell hole. Bet that within 5 years there will no longer be Remington in ny.
