Because government has given themselves permission to do these things because they are confident that no one can or will stop them and if they try, they will have somebody burn your house down and kill everyone in it.

This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible.
