If I may be permitted a personal comment at the end of this eventful day:

I have been tilting at federal windmills for almost twenty years now, but this is the first time one actually seems like it might fall over.

I ponder the implication of that thought.

From your mouth to G*d's ears, Brother!

You deserve a bit of gloating!

My cynical-side is wondering just what sort of "deal" he's cut - and with who...

"I won't throw THE BIG GUYS under the bus if y'all will promise to let me live and give me just enough cash to be able to survive and take care of my family..."

I pray he's the stinkin'-@$$ rat he seems to be - and that he rolls over on every last one of them.

I agree with the guys over at CUATF though - what a POS...

Good job, Don! :)

If they fall over it'll just be taken over by other parts of DOJ I have problems with because of their regular misdeeds. Be nice to see some get their just desserts, but it'd be nicer to see NFA, GCA, et al go away.

Looks good, Dutchman. I just hope that your elation is not dashed. There is still time for someone to get to Gillett. He could still "commit suicide" a la Vince Foster or have an accident a la Bill Colby. Or just be bought off. Or get a photoshopped photo of his wife or one of his children in a place they frequent but looking very, VERY dead.

As the ancient (dating back AT LEAST to the Greeks) proverb says:
There's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip
Even when the outcome of an event seems certain, things can still go south.

Tom, one battle at a time. Let's take this hill before we start wishing on the next.

If nothing else, you have created an historical record for the education of others, who will be asking rather tough questions in the future.

The delete button no longer functions adequately enough to protect the guilty. They can and will eventually be found out and found. In other counties, no doubt.
