Supporter of "assault weapons bans" criticizes Eric Holder's clandestine operation to achieve a new one.

"Which way is the wind blowing today?"
I commend to your attention this New Year's morning, gentle readers, the unabashedly hypocritical irony of the unprincipled political windsock which is Mitt Romney. First, by directing you to this story -- "Mitt Romney: Eric Holder should resign for Fast and Furious mishap."
And then, to this one: Romney signs off on permanent assault weapons ban.
Or, more comprehensively, to this one.
I guess Romney is just upset about Obama's methods, not his goals.

What a Zoo,this is really turning into some sick shit!Back before the 2010 elections I heard the blowhard Rush Limbaugh several times remark that the Republicans where being awfully quiet.I recall telling someone back then ,yes that,s because they want the same crap the commiecrats want for you but they,ve got enough sense to keep it hush/hush.Folks....This country is hurting and the republicrats are just going to be more of the same old shit.Ron Paul is the only hope of ever restoring the government to any kind of Sanity.

Romney, like all of the Republican candidates, save Ron Paul, is a neocon. Neocons know no morals or ethics.

I just watched a bit of Rick Santorum on one of the Sunday political shows that my wife MUST watch each week. This candidate, while he was in the senate, never met a progressive/fascist program he didn't like and vote for; he's now claiming the mantle "conservative" and for "values". Values? Santorum has none that wouldn't fit in with Obushma's values.

And so it goes.

Mishap?

mishap [ˈmɪshæp]
n
1. an unfortunate accident
2. bad luck

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

I guess the "botched" story ain't working out like they had hoped.

People used to say that Steve Jobs had a "reality distortion field". Heh, at least Jobs was selling something tangible you could make use of.

Romney is selling empty promises and lies. You can't even dry them out and use them for fertilizer because there's no substance.

I'm Mormon, and I don't care for the guy one bit. Whenever I have a serious conversation about Romney with any Mormon, it takes 5-10 minutes for the RDF to dissipate and then the bubble pops. Once somebody sees the guy for who he is, they reject him.

There are still people out there who think Mitt is better than Obama. There are still people out there who think Gingrich is better than Obama.

With Johnson entering as a third party, voters will abandon the GOP if they nominate a progressive. People have to realize that if either of those clowns get the nomination, it's 4 more years of Obama, a done deal. True story.

That alone should be enough reason to vote in the primaries for somebody other than those two...anybody but those two!

Paul can pull the party back together and prevent a libertarian vote drain. Sure, I don't like his foreign policy either, but I'd take Paul over Obama any day of the week.

Romney is atrocious. McCain was atrocious, too. I voted for McCain (gag reflex, puke taste in my mouth and all) to stop Obama and I may have to do the same with Romney.

Mitt Romney supports" the right of individuals to keep and bear arms as guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution, though in past campaigns he has described himself as a proponent of gun control, and he fully supports a ban on assault weapons." Romney, like the Nazis and other totalitarians, believes that sporting weapons are all that civilians should be "allowed" to own. Quoting Romney "These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."

Such a ban can only presage a total ban on civilian ownership of firearms since anyone with a lick of sense knows that sporting arms can kill a man just as dead as military arms can. Plus they can be used go acquire military grade arms.

Better to go down fighting as a citizen than live as a surf. Remember, those who beat their swords into (or trade them in for) plowshares generally end up plowing for those who kept their swords.

There can be only one candidate for the Republican Party, and it ain't "any of the above." Either Ron Paul will be the party's candidate, or he will be an independent. with his supporters voting for him by write-in or otherwise.

And, no, there can be no "a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama." A vote for anyone BUT Ron Paul will put another crook in the White House

If Romney is the best the republican party can put forward as a candidate for the president, not only is the grand old party done, but our country will suffer for years. Time to get rid of the banker-backed candidates.

Whether Obama won in 2008 or McStain, we would be exactly HERE, regardless.

Choosing the lesser of two evils requires that one affirmatively vote for evil.

If Johnson runs as a LP candidate, there will be enough voters from both major parties crossing over that an Obama 2nd term is a near-certainty.

If this happens to candidate Ron Paul, it's a catastrophe. If it happens to candidate Gingrich or Romney, it means essentially nothing.

The only winning solution is
- Ron Paul wins the GOP nomination
- Johnson and the LP drop out (if there is a Johnson candidacy)

Some here will (necessarily) have other opinions on this.

I'd sure like to think that Johnson won't torpedo Paul.

Obama == Bush == Romney

More of the same hopium and change you can believe in (but won't like).

Meanwhile the one candidate who honors his oath to the constitution is smeared, ignored and villified.
