It begins. Predatory regime of both parties provides citizenry with another reason to shoot first and ask questions later when a raid party comes to your home.

"Americans face Guantánamo detention after Obama climbdown."
Barack Obama has abandoned a commitment to veto a new security law that allows the military to indefinitely detain without trial American terrorism suspects arrested on US soil who could then be shipped to Guantánamo Bay.
Human rights groups accused the president of deserting his principles and disregarding the long-established principle that the military is not used in domestic policing. The legislation has also been strongly criticised by libertarians on the right angered at the stripping of individual rights for the duration of "a war that appears to have no end". . .
But another conservative senator, Rand Paul, a strong libertarian, has said "detaining citizens without a court trial is not American" and that if the law passes "the terrorists have won".
"We're talking about American citizens who can be taken from the United States and sent to a camp at Guantánamo Bay and held indefinitely. It puts every single citizen American at risk," he said. "Really, what security does this indefinite detention of Americans give us? The first and flawed premise, both here and in the badly named Patriot Act, is that our pre-9/11 police powers were insufficient to stop terrorism. This is simply not borne out by the facts."
Paul was backed by Senator Dianne Feinstein.
"Congress is essentially authorizing the indefinite imprisonment of American citizens, without charge," she said. "We are not a nation that locks up its citizens without charge."
Paul said there were already strong laws against support for terrorist groups. He noted that the definition of a terrorism suspect under existing legislation was so broad that millions of Americans could fall within it.
"There are laws on the books now that characterize who might be a terrorist: someone missing fingers on their hands is a suspect according to the Department of Justice. Someone who has guns, someone who has ammunition that is weatherproofed, someone who has more than seven days of food in their house can be considered a potential terrorist," Paul said. "If you are suspected because of these activities, do you want the government to have the ability to send you to Guantánamo Bay for indefinite detention?"
What then shall we do? A predatory regime of both parties has provided the citizenry with another reason to shoot first and ask questions later when a raid party comes to your home. Must we wait for a Supreme Court decision that comes months, if not years, after the first attack before we begin shooting at every federal officer or soldier who approaches our homes? The inalienable right of self defense says no. These unprincipled idiots are playing with matches in a powder magazine. And the first match of this new box just got struck.

It is hardly worth citing Mr President 'My Record Is Clear' on anything. Sure he promised a veto and sure he did not provide that veto - because obama wants this added power to detain and imprison.
The schmuck-in-chief ALWAYS covers his bases by making statements for and against everything. Then he can lay claim 'I was for' or 'I was against' as needed.

Quote from an unlinked but related article: "Obama could put pen to paper as early as tomorrow on a law that if recognized will nullify the bill of rights – ironically tomorrow is “Bill of Rights Day”."

Obama never intended to veto the bill. It's EXACTLY what he wants. His veto threat was simply window dressing, so that he can look like a patriot by saying, "Look, I WANTED to veto the bill, but THEY (Congress) had too many votes." He has what he wants (unlimited power) and he will use it "for the common good." He has a lot of people fooled.

It's pretty clear what they are doing here. They are sifting through all the data collected with their tax payer funded super computers and then sorting that data collected on individual US citizens. The data then is prioritized based upon the words used by the individual and their contacts.

None of it constitutional and a state security agent's wet dream come true. Oaths of office? Protect defend the constitution?

FLAT OUT TREASON. Nothing less.

No matter what they say on camera.

Uhhhhhhh'Bama's veto-threat has been misrepresented from the beginning.

He threatened to veto the bill if it DID NOT apply to American citizens on American soil!

There is simply **NO** national-security justification for this - everyone from Petreus (CIA) through FBI to DHS have come out AGAINST it!

This is nothing less than a threat directed at those who would oppose their agenda - and the "bipartisan" nature of this monstrosity proves beyond any doubt that "they" includes the Retardlicans as well as the Commucrats.

Anyone who had ANY doubt should now be fully aware of what is coming.

As I see it, we now have ONE possible and INFINITELY SLIM chance of heading off a MASSIVE bloodletting: A Ron Paul presidency combined with a total housecleaning in both houses of CONgress, replacing them all with carefully-vetted, true Patriots who could repeal all of this sickness.

It's not going to happen - but one can still dream and should do all within his power to work to such an end - even with the full knowledge that such is likely futile.

God help us - and GOD SAVE OUR REPUBLIC!

American citizens are exempt. Or so I read this morning. Also that is what my Senator's office told me yesterday. He is a patriot so if he has been fooled, we all have been fooled.

And "Paul was backed by Senator Dianne Feinstein."... holy shiite, batman. When Feinstein agrees with Rand Paul over anything, you have GOT to realize how fooked we are.

Now, only a paranoid egg-streamist would be worried about this new law, right? If you ain't done nuthin' wrong, you ain't got nuthin' to worry about, right?

I mean... right?

It is time to start making a point about congress using the constitution as ass-wipe. I say we all start sending packages of toilet paper to our congress critters, along with a note that says: "There appears to be a shortage of toilet paper in D.C. because you keep wiping your butts with the constitution. Hope this contribution helps. Now start following through on your oath of office."

one of the provisions in this law discribing a terrorist and something one could get arrested for, is if you have more than 7 days of food stored up, you could go to jail. well how about the TV show Super Couponers that showed these people that have turned their garages and basements, closets, etc. into storage for all the food and paper idems they are getting at the grocery store for free after they turn in their coupons, so will they be the first ones to get arrested or will it be my grandmother who still cans every year from her garden?

So now, along with all the so-called “anti-terrorism” legislation rammed through since the early 1990’s, we now find ourselves in the following position: Your backyard is now considered to be a battlefield. You can be arrested and held indefinitely without a trial or evidence. All nice and legal-like.

Let’s examine our current situation:

- People are roiling in anger over banskter bailouts and the printing of money.
- Trillions of dollars are missing from the Federal Reserve Bank and they refuse to divulge where it has gone.
- The govt has approx. $117 trillion in unfunded liabilities…..too many promises to too many people with no idea how to pay for it.
- National debt at $17 trillion and rising.
- Protests, riots, revolutions and govts around the world being toppled.
- Millions of Americans have lost their retirement, or simply everything.
- Millions have had their homes foreclosed on.
- Many people have awakened to the fact that voting and getting “their guy” in office essentially means nothing and the game is rigged.
- At least 44 million people on food stamps
- Congress approval rating at 6% is the lowest in history.
- Dear Leader’s approval rating worse than Jimmy Carter’s.
- Since the end of WWII, and particularly in the last 15 years, the construction of numerous, massive Deep Underground Military Bases (D.U.M.B.)
- FEMA ordering 350+ million MRE’s.
- FEMA recently activating some 600 “detention centers” around the country.
- FEMA and KBR working to contract out services for the operation of these detention camps, to be ready to go within 72 hours of being given the go-ahead.
- FEMA’s stockpiling of millions of plastic coffins.
- FEMA’s recently-completed contract to take delivery of 100,000+ railroad “prisoner” boxcars, each installed with hundreds of shackles.
- Threat of massive solar storms in 2012 potentially frying the power grid and sensitive electronics all across the world.
- A few months ago, North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue saying that we need to cancel the 2012 elections…..an obvious trial balloon floated by the administration.
- The desire by many in the govt to nationalize private retirement plans in the USA.….401ks, IRA’s, pensions, etc….which are the last big chunk of wealth left in the country.
- The young, 20-something generation realizing that they’ve been duped…….tens of thousands of dollars in debt and there are no jobs for bachelor’s degrees in “Gay Latino Studies”.
- Govt essentially losing all legitimacy, respect, trust, and faith of the people.
- Increasing numbers of people “prepping” for hard times they believe are coming.
- Gun and ammo sales at record highs.
- The militarization of our civilian police forces.
- Govt at all levels quietly strengthening/reinforcing their buildings and adding extra layers of defense/protection.

I could go on all day, but you get the point. Clearly, our govt knows that something really big and nasty is going to go down. They are either expecting it to happen, or planning to make it happen themselves. What’s also clear is that they are very much afraid of We the People. We know what they are doing, what they have done for years…..the lies, the false-flags, the running of guns to Mexico to try and get more gun control, the running of drugs into the USA, etc. We are completely fed up and they know it.

Mike -
Below is my email to my Congressman who Chairs the House Judiciary Committee:

REF: S 1867 Defense Authorization Bill

Dear Congressman Smith -

A section of this bill S 1867 does not include an exemption for U.S. citizens, and would give the government "the legal authority to keep people suspected of 'terrorism' in military custody, indefinitely and without trial." This is outrageous!

Under Section 1031 of Senate Bill 1867, if I am are merely accused of involvement in or support of some activity the Government does not agree with, military police are free to show up at my door, break it in, place me under arrest, and escort me to a military installation for indefinite incarceration without affording me the right of habeas corpus or a speedy trial on the merits before a jury in the federal judicial system. The power is not unlike that of the Gestapo. The law invites abuse beyond the obvious invasion of protected rights, because it can—like the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798—be used to eliminate political dissidents of one kind or another.

The history of modern government is rife with examples of the innocent accused. While none of us would favor a state that was less than vigilant in arresting and prosecuting American citizens for whom evidence reveals involvement in terrorist activities, no freedom loving American should accept on the pretext of the war on terror the wholesale and indefinite suspension of all Americans basic rights to Habeas Corpus, to Due Process under the Fifth Amendment, and to notice of the precise charges brought, to a speedy trial on the merits before an impartial judge, to a trial by jury, and to counsel--all guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment.

Congressman Smith, as a retired US Army officer who spent over 22 years defending our Country and Constitution, I very respectfully request that you make certain that these provisions are deleted from this bill.

The above was sent prior to the House vote. I also called voiced my outrage. Today when I called I was assured the objectionable part was deleted... We'll see!

The moment this garbage is signed into law, we are effectively under attack because any citizen may be snatched without warrant, without charge, and held without hearing indefinitely. If we are under attack, we are defacto in a state of war, and if we are in a state of war, we are no longer bound to obey a compact that the "other side" has abrogated.

I'd be open to listening to a counter-point, but I don't think there's any logical justification once this abomination becomes 'the law of the land' that can used to rationally expect the citizenry to respect (obey) those who breeched the contract....

What say you, MVB?

The British made a decision and set out to do something while armed Patriots met them on the road to resist the threat. Do the scenarios of 1776 and today have to be EXACTLY the same? Clearly, 101 reasons can be cited why we are living in tyranny right now. The government has made a new threat and they fully intend to carry it out. Will the Patriots decide the threat alone is enough to begin refreshing the tree of Liberty? Or will they meet them only when the government tests their new powers for the first time? Will they intervene when their first "terrorist" is being hauled away? Will they wait until they come for Mike himself? Will they not act until their own father or son is being pursued as a terrorist? Will they do anything at all, ever? These are times which try the hearts of men.
