More confiscationist silliness from the Sincere Advocate of Civil War Department (as long as nobody shoots his treasonous ass).

"No more guns."
We need to outlaw firearms in the hands of all civilians and start to collect every one of them and melt them down for railroad track. Yes. It would be a big job, but the longest journey begins with but a single step, in the right direction. The military and the police are the only people who should have them. No more guns!
Thanks for the reminder to buy more ammo when I have the money.

I'd sure like to know where that idiot came up with 163000 murders per year in the US. Seems like that's about 8X the real number.

someone in the comments thread actually stated that Japan had half the population of the US when talking about the per capita comparison of murder there.

nice....

The day the federal, state, and local police, and the military along with all free lance criminals forsake violence, and lay down their guns and all other weapons I might consider cutting back a few of my firearms.

Franklin Pierce must be turning in his grave.
I'm ex-pat from New Hampshire-the "Live Free or Die" state. Sad.
This fellow and the liberal paper who published him are pitiable. I know there's folks there yet who know why the second amendment exists...

Bernard Ass writes, "The Second Amendment was written at a time when the United States was little more than jungle with bandits, savage Indians and wild animals that we needed to protect ourselves from."

Well, not much has changed, other than those "savage Indians" that he and his ilk have killed off - who's next?

I vote we kill off all the bandits (IRS) and animals (Banksters) and savages (politicians).

We keep the guns.

You lose, Bernard AH.

Aw, let's cut the guy a little slack. Based on his Facebook page he's just an old coot who likely thinks of FDR as a hero, just like my dear departed father did.

However, he's also the author of a book entitled "We Jews: A Handbook for Gentiles". As a Jew, he should know better. Maybe someone should send him some of Aaron Zelman's books and an application for JPFO.

Read through the comments. One guy says we have 163,000 murders a year in the U.S.

That's about 447 every day!

Where in hell do they get these numbers? Even the Brady Bunch doesn't go that far off into never-never land!

I was going to comment at the site but I'll be damned if I'll pay a dollar to the Concord Monitor for the privledge. Let 'em live in ignorance!

AJ, he's high on the US murder rate (US DOJ figures for 2010) by over 15 times.

I usually don't bother to comment on articles/letters by asshats such as this one, but he is SO wrong on his figures I just had to. The most recent comment before mine presented the correct murder figures for 1991, so my comment didn't need to include that. In case that liberal rag doesn't approve mine, here it is:

At least someone knows how to look up stats - thank you. Additionally, Police stats for Japan indicate "murders" to be closer to a thousand yearly (i.e. 1,297 in 2008 and 1,094 in 2009). And no indication of percentage by gun is included. I assume the author doesn't know how to look up basic data, or is making it up. Perhaps this is a child who has listened to too many discussions by liberals and socialists who would rather see a Stalinist-style totalitarian dictatorship established here than the Republic? He has also apparently never read the U.S. Constitution, American history or appreciated the role New Hampshire played in the beginning of this country as the first state to adopt a constitution. Also, Concord's namesake (Concord MA) is where one of the first actions of resistance to tyranny occured. One would think he'd be proud of this association.

One might also study the differences in ethnic makeup between the US and Japan - which may go further to explain such disparities in crime rates.

Japan's culture is one of EXTREME politeness and respect to each other (and authority) due primarily to overcrowding, but ALSO due to absolute martial control - established long ago by warlords who DISARMED the population before oppressing them. That's why the ninja rose up from the peasant class to begin with - they were pushed to their limits by oppressive rulers.

Sound familiar?

Just a friendly reminder to those desiring our liberty arms. I am placing my order for another arm this week. This one will be in 308 with 3000 rounds of ammo. How many of your minions do you suppose I will KILL that try to take away my $3000 investment?

Those comparing murder rates between US and Japan should include suicide as well - at which point they take a substantial lead...

Theirs is a culture STEEPED in servility and meekness - partly due to aforementioned history, but WE certainly drove any martial spirit out of those who survived post-1945.

Ergo, when they "lose it" they kill THEMSELVES instead of their enemy.

Further, if you remove the... er... "urban demographic from our murder stats, we're no higher than most of the rest of the "western world."

It's the "gangsta" thugs that are responsible for MOST of our murder rate - and the "Gangsta" thugs are a HUGE drain on the rest of society to boot!

I say ban all motor vehicles from public hands. That would save many more lives than a stupid gun ban. And just think of the drop in pollutions from exhaust emissions. And who needs to travel? Before long, there will be no reason to drive to work or the mall, as we'll all be out of work and starving.

Let Mr. Dumb-Ass come around and ask me for my guns. His life expectancy is about up anyway.

One more thought. I wonder if Mr. Bernard Ass, would like to be the first in line to strap on the blue helmet and come by my place demanding my guns?
I didn't think so.

from the comments over there: "You will not get my weapon by request or demand; and thus, even under Tyranny, I still get a vote."

i wholeheartedly agree, but i would like to make a correction, under tyranny i don't just get one vote, i get lots of them. and that reminds me, i need to go buy more votes. . .

Everything they are, everything they do is built upon lies. Those lies are presented to the public in order to achieve a result that they desire. They know that they are telling lies, it is their way to power, it always has been. The only time they stop telling those lies is when they aren't breathing any longer. Then another leftist steps into their place and the lies start all over again.

It's a process that is only interrupted by attrition. Or a lack of willing participation. The government is on their side because they now control it's levers.

It appears they are censoring comments, as well.

I made several, under different pseudonyms, some pro, some against, and some neutral, using different IP addresses.

None were allowed through.

Better yet, send him some of the pictures of Babi Yar and other "sardine packing" sites (esp. Latvia) from Holocaust Museum archives. That shows quite well what happens to unarmed folks who run into armed folks. Sadly, like as not, the author would probably just look at it as a How-To manual.
