David Codrea: "Researchers predict UN Arms Trade Treaty will be finalized by summer."

"We predict that a minimal Implementation Support Unit (ISU) will be approved, and will ultimately grow into a global BATFE on steroids."

Those who think the Constitutional "2/3 of senators..." requirement will help us need to READ IT.

What it REALLY says is "2/3 of Senators *PRESENT*!

Does anyone doubt that slamming this through during a moment when most of the opposition aren't present is beyond these monsters?

I can't recall exactly what it was, but just a year or so ago they did something similar - sent everyone home and then all the demmunists waited around for the Republitards to get on down the road.

Once they were sure all the Republitards were gone, they issued a "recall" page - then slammed the vote through before all the Republitards could get back to oppose it.

Do you REALLY think they wouldn't pull a similar thing to get something they REALLY want?

Let's say they pass it...they can legislate anything they want...enforcement? Well, that's another matter, civil disobedience aside.

There's that pesky precedent set in Marbury on any and all laws repugnant to the Constitution, which a disarmament treaty would be on its face.

Then there's the principles set forth in the opening of the Unanimous Declaration, and on top of that, there's Natural Law, and inherent rights.

All that being piled up against the legalistic maneuverings of people who don't believe Americans won't defend their birthright when pushed too far (that nastly little 'civil disobedience' thing comes to mind....)?

Hey, why wait for early summer? Bring it to the floor of the Senate for and up or down vote on March 1st!

Seriously.

Bring.

It.

I don't know anything about whether or not they're setting themselves up for failure, but they are for sure setting up yet another way to spark a revolution. The Dhimmicrats do seem bound and determined to start a civil war.

I am with Doc. BRING IT!!!

..and Dedicated Dad makes a very good point. This is exactly how the Federal Reserve Banking Act was passed, during the Christmas recess of 1913. Aren't we all glad that came to pass? It has resulted in the devaluation of our money by 90% in nearly 100 years.

yes, please bring it!

Cyborg,
how do you figure this is a Democrat thing???
Looked at your gov't lately?
There's not one fukin thing to separate the Dems from the Repubs, each and every one is a traitor to his oath, any difference is only wishful thinking on your part. Wake the fuk up!!!

Their mindset is that because such a thing has not happened in their memory it is therefore not possible.

King George III's ministers were similarly convinced that in the unlikely event of violence in the colonies it could be put down merely by a sufficient show of force.

Both sides in the last "unpleasantness between the states" thought the other side would give up in six weeks or less.

More colossal blunders in military history can be explained by simple ignorance of the foe than any other factor. Any one want to claim that our antagonists-in-waiting have any clue what threepers are about?

My understanding is that "Absolved" is in part supposed to wise up the other side. It would be a terrible shame if it were finally published AFTER hostilities have commenced. As the first continental congress found out between April of 1775 and July of 1776, it's damned difficult to put that kind of toothpaste back in the tube.

It is a direct violation of the U.S. Constitution, therefore, I won't comply. Period.
God have mercy on whoever tries to enforce it...because I damn sure won't.

Everyone who thinks that they want to shove the UN Arms Trade Treaty down our throats should be required to read the last 100 pages of "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross. Those poor stupid bastards and the BITCH pushing this assault on our Constitutional Rights and the Sovereignty of the United States don't understand the ramifications of their actions. If they read the book maybe then the light will come on in their feeble minds and they can make an informed decision if they want to start a civil war knowing what the battle plan is in advance.

Sorry, Doc, but this wouldn't be a "law" per-se - and hence Marbury wouldn't apply!

If I were asked to pick one thing that proves The Founders (PBUT) were human - and thus prone to mistakes - it would be Article Six Clause Two:

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding."

As much as it pains me to say it, if The Enemy enters into a treaty which bans civilian ownership of small arms, that ban immediately becomes "the supreme Law of the land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby."

Now...

I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY that such a move would violate the INTENT of the Founders, as it is WITHOUT QUESTION that they NEVER intended for the Fed.Gov to be able to accomplish by treaty what they could never get done by legislation or amendment.

IF they do this, it will be an illegitimate pronouncement and absolutely a moral casus-belli.

Still, they'll have NO PROBLEM finding a Court to rule in their favor, and even SCOTUS would be a close call at this point.

Given their stranglehold on the media, MOST people would be easy to convince that this was a legitimate exercise of Constitutional power.

I am however reasonably sure that AT LEAST three percent of American Gun Owners would both know better and be willing to resist such tyranny by any means necessary!

I can but hope and pray that there are enough sane people remaining in Sodom-on-the-Potomac to stop this sickness in its tracks - otherwise it will be stopped at great horror and loss of life.

Jefferson was right when he said no country has gone over 210 years without some rebellion, and The Tree is obviously overdue for a good watering...

I guess I'll have to defer to the wise man who wrote the bit about "let it be in my day, so that my children may have peace."

God help us - and GOD SAVE OUR REPUBLIC!!

Are these people so arrogant, brazen and foolish to actually do this?

We all know the answer.

As it seems noble to compare what we face now to George III and 1775, what we face here is a million times worse.

I learned a long time ago that it is completely pointless to talk to the enemies of freedom. Don't waste your time quoting Bible verses or the Founding Fathers. The effectiveness of that has long since past.

Just keep prepping...

Don't shoot the blue berets or blue helmets. Shoot the suits from 600 meters. It is much more effective.

If they ever try and confiscate law-abiding citizens firearms, they will be declaring the opening salvo of the second American civil war. These evil individuals ( regardless of party affiliation) want to rule the world and they can't while the citizenry remains armed. I hope and pray that the ATT gets derailed here in the states. If not, well then its bloodshed on a historic level.
