Well, I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears.

Strengthen ties, sell jets, study urges

The US should bolster its relationship with Taiwan and sell Taipei the 66 F-16C/D aircraft it has requested, a major new academic study concludes.

“However frightening or seductive China is, appeasing it by sacrificing Taiwan would not be good policy,” said Nancy Bernkopf Tucker, a professor at Georgetown University, and Bonnie Glaser, a senior fellow and China expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

An academia study that makes sense from the common man conservative's point of view.
When do you think THAT will happen again?

If it's left up to the current PTB, Israel and Taiwan are toast.

“A decision to jettison Taiwan, or even cut back significantly on US support, would prove to an increasingly confident China that Washington has become weak, vacillating and unreliable,” they said.

"Has become...?" More like "has been for years." What do you think would happen if we went ahead with the deal? China will say "STOP!" and Obama will say "no problem." We're the United States of Red China".

So... we should go to war, including possibly nuclear war, over Taiwan? Seriously?

Well, look at the bright side. That would certainly end the empire. Maybe at the cost of some millions dead, but what the Hell, chest-thumping is important.

It's Taiwan's job to look out for Taiwan, not our job. But I guess government-lovers see things differently.

No!

No!

No!

If we tell the Chicoms that they cannot have Taiwan at any price, and make them believe that we mean it, the war will not occur. The Chinese are not stupid. We have been in this posture vis a vis China and Taiwan since 1949. China wants Taiwan but not at any price. Make it clear to them that it will cost more than they are willing to pay and they will keep their hands in their pockets as they have done for over 60 years. What part of that do you and our Apologist In Chief not understand?

I am no a supporter for foreign aid. If Taiwan wants to buy planes than sell them. China does things we don't like all the time but that doesn't stop them for going ahead and doing it.
I am truly concerned about the small arms imported components. That is another screw up of government policy just like the things that allowed 9-11 to happen.

The same choices faced the world as Hitler began annexing countries. For a while, war was avoided. A very short while.

Every era has it's challenges. Don't worry, I'm sure history will judge us fairly no matter what we do. Right?

I believe we should not enter into alliances lightly, but when we do, we should not abandon our allies lightly either.

The exact same question comes up in our "III" scenarios. Do you have someone elses back? Does someone have yours?
