GOP leadership to allow the Gunwalker Conspirators to ride their Omnibus? We need to demand that they "Defund the Gunwalkers!"

House GOP eyes year-end omnibus.

Reversing their past rhetoric, House Republicans are actively considering plans to bundle the 12 annual appropriations bills into a single omnibus package that meets spending targets set in the August budget accord and can be enacted before the December showdown over further deficit reduction.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) was described as still nervous about the strategy, given the resistance he risks from conservatives and his own past criticism of such big budget packages. But House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) told POLITICO, “I don’t think we have any choice,” and expects to meet with his Senate counterparts next week to explore this approach.

The pressure of a deadline, the massive size of the bill and the many opportunities for artfully hidden crap to deliberately miss the oversight of outside critics make the Omnibus the last, best refuge of porkulus-driven scoundrels -- and of Gunwalker criminals eager to avoid budget penalties for their scofflawry.

The GOP has two big tools in its kit to deal with the Gunwalker Plotters: oversight investigations and the budget. They can defund this madness if they are really serious about it. Why not defund the multiple longarm reporting diktat? Why not defund the FBI's NICS program until they explain how it was manipulated in favor of gunwalking? Why not defund the Attorney General's personal budget until the law-breaking, lying sonofabitch comes clean on Gunwalker?

If the GOP is really serious about getting to the bottom of the Gunwalker Scandal this is a very powerful tool. Yet they show all signs of "business as usual."

We demanded hearings and we (finally) got them. Not enough, but some. We still need a second front on that score. Yet now we need to demand something else of the boneless chicken party: Defund the Gunwalkers!

Each item in the "omnibus" needs to be pulled out and discussed, looked at and voted on SEPARATELY!
It may not be a perfect solution, but it will help to weed out (some? most? all?) of the pork, and get some open discussion/debate over the funding of DOJ, BAT-feces, FiBBIes, and anyone else involved in F&F.
