Verbal shots fired in Ruidoso gunfight: krqe.com
At one guy even slung an AR. Of course Larry Pratt and Bob Wright are in the middle of the resistance. Bob reports the cops were "VERY, VERY polite." With at least 80 armed citizens in the room that was probably a good idea.

Great video and posted.
Gun free zones are simply killing fields for mass murderers!
Power of II needs to prevail.

The mayor has exceeded his authority. New Mexico does not prohibit the carrying of firearms in City Hall buildings.

Good stuff - great to see some balls in the public, so to speak. Bob is looking good these days, and still does not look like someone to mess with. and God bless Larry Pratt.
BTW - was your own doctor visit OK??
"I'm not sure I want to be sittin in this seat"
Good. Get lost.
Irony: "Ruidoso" in Spanish means "very loud."
I can't imagine anything louder than a village full of armed citizens saying, "Or what?"
Man! - That sure does warm the cockles of my black little heart!
WELL DONE, GENTLEMEN (AND LADIES!)!
"“My responsibility is health, safety and welfare of our employees so if we're not going to be able to do these kinds of things I’m not sure I want to be sitting in this seat,” Alborn said."
No, that's not your responsibility, asshole! Your job is to get the damn potholes filled in, collect the trash and the yard trash, get traffic signal devices put up, and keep track of street signs.
If you don't know what a mayor is supposed to do, Mr. Alborn, then you should not only give up your seat but reimburse the town for the time you wasted so far.
"It's my job to make sure that the village workers are protected."
Then why not let THEM carry as well? And openly, too.
Dear Mr Mayor,
You're a Weenie. And a Wuss. Get lost.

Great job Bob and Larry...keep fighting the fight...
I keep saying that folks here in Illinois need to have an open carry protest like this, except do it outside walking down the street rather than go into "sensitive places".
Interestingly, the NRA aligned "leaders" in this area argue against it and consider something like that a trouble making event.
Here in Illinois we have the "perfect test case" where we are the only state where carry is 100% banned and the NRA and their cohorts discourage just what this video shows.
Ironic isn't it, the NRA's position here is not for you to defend your own right, but instead to stand down and have the professionals do it for you. This while the NRA tried its bets to impose a nefarious permission slip, fee and qualification based of course, structure where none exists.
TY to SAF for it's suit and I hope I get to say thanks to Her Honor Sue soon - as a right and proper, FACTUAL decision effectively brings about Constitutional Carry in Illinois by simply eliminating our offending code.
As cops didn't arrest anyone in this video, if a large group was to do something similar in Illinois, right in the capital, they wouldn't dare make hundreds of arrests in front of all the cameras. Alas, I can't get any Illinoisans to stand up beside me to actually do it. SO, until Sue comes with her overdue decision, I wait.
One way or another, there will be an open carry event here in Illinois - even if I stand all by myself in doing so....
This Patriot has such a tiny amount of patience left so long after Heller and McDonald.
Enough is Enough - I'll wait for one more judge, one more time. Sue had better bring the goods, or a title 42 section 1983 I will engage with accusation and charges being my "standing".
Enough of this ban in Illinois. ENOUGH!
I am betting I know some folks who will be happy to spread the word, and pics and videos, of being arrested for simple open carry....
The folks in the video make me proud, and they give me strength as something I have reminded about for a good long while comes to pass as it looks like It is going to have to.
Thanks for sharing this video.
Textbook civil disobedience. Bravo.
Folks like those armed citizens and rabblerousers like ol' Bob Wright are the ONLY reason we're as free as we are today. Were it not for them, the government would have finished soldering the slave collars around our necks a long time back.
You know something that gets all my hackles up though? How come there ain't a 25-30 year old Bob standing at that podium? What we going to do when the Bob's die off?
[Politeness off] Ask the fucking mayor if his executive order will stop a crazed gunman from walking into City Hall and blowing his fucking head off. And then ask him if he'd feel a little safer if there were 10-12 armed citizens on the premises at the same time.
I hope the mf'er resigns and goes home to pound sand!
What I would not have given for mayor to have the cops to try and arrest someone...
Well Nevada is light years ahead of Seymour Missouri we have never been able to carry into the town meetings that we pay for nor can we mundanes just speak. We must tell then much in advance what we are going to say.
Hell, I was just in Ruidoso M/T/W of last week. If I'd known about this, I woulda shown up with my 1911!
It would have been a real blast to have met Bob Wright and Larry Pratt, as well...
"...Alborn issued the executive order banning firearms from government property and meetings a month ago, after a citizen refused to give up his gun after taking the podium."
Regarding that one citizen, standing alone; some proof that true courage still exists in America! Sir, whoever you are, thank you.
Tried to post after the Illinois gentleman but this blog software is lacking.....
In a state where the criminal penalties are onerous. Put on an air-soft or realistic looking pellet gun (there are many) and a quality holster and walk into your town council meeting. Perhaps you can even sue the people that arrest you for damages. Then start a local online newspaper to educate the public,

Ashrak, I wonder if Ruidoso cops are as Unionized as their br'ers are in Chicago. Something tells me maybe not...they look like they can keep an oath.
@Ernst
I am 30 and if I lived in Ruiodoso I would have participated. There are plenty of pro freedom 20 an 30yr olds, and a lot of us (me included) are veterans.
I went to my town council meeting here in MO and I brought up the firearms issue. We all need to attend and start participating.
