ADL Notices the Three Percent. We are officially pronounced an "anti-government conspiracy."

With a tip of the boonie hat to Brock for the link, so says the ADL: "Rage Grows in America: Anti‑Government Conspiracies. The Three Percenters."

Long-time readers may recall we have encountered the ADL's "militia expert" Mark Pitcavage before.

Back in the 90s, Mark Pitcavage trolled the internet snitching for the FBI, assisted, he said, by "Sparky, the anti-militia dog." Now he works for ADL, and Sparky hasn't been heard from in years. There are conflicting rumors as to his sad fate. One said that Pitcavage sat on him, smothering the poor beast. Other reports say that Pitcavage ate him one day when he was trapped in his apartment by his own paranoia.

Here is Pitcavage's latest.

The Three Percenters are a loosely organized movement that apparently formed in late 2008, centered around an obscure and not particularly accurate Revolutionary War “statistic” that suggested that only 3% of the American population during the Revolutionary War participated as combatants in the war (the actual figure was nearly twice that). Three Percenters claim that they are a modern counterpart to that mythical 3% of American Revolutionary-era patriots.

In the words of one Three Percenter:

“The Three Percent today are gun owners who will not disarm, will not compromise and will no longer back up at the passage of the next gun control act…We will not obey any further circumscription of our traditional liberties and will defend ourselves if attacked…We are committed to the restoration of the Founders’ Republic, and are willing to fight, die, and, if forced by any would-be oppressor, to kill in the defense of ourselves and the Constitution that we all took an oath to uphold against enemies foreign and domestic.”

The movement started on the Internet but eventually moved into the real world, with members designing a flag and military-style patches (some of which appear to have been applied to their uniforms by active duty soldiers). One of the active proponents of the Three Percenters is the Alabama-based Mike Vanderboegh, who in the past has been involved with the militia movement and the anti-immigration border vigilante movement.

To date, the movement is still small, but appears to be growing.

Typical collectivist propaganda. Just because we don't believe in THEIR vision of Federal Leviathan "government" that makes us "anti-government." Personally, I'm pro-government, if you mean a government that is small, safe, inexpensive and maintains ordered liberty and the rule of law without oppressing people.

But an "anti-government 'conspiracy'"? Hmmm. Sounds like they intend prison for the likes of us. Who are we "conspiring" against? If we are conspiring for any purpose it is to maintain what liberty we have left and to regain what has been lost over the last century.

And that, I think, puts us in the good company of other "conspirators" throughout history, starting with Sam Adams and his bunch of rowdy "anti-government" conspirators against King George III.

OK, I'll go along with six percent if it makes ADL happy, but I do think they're being a little overly optimistic...

One is tempted to ask, Why are those that demand the most complete submission to an overbearing government ... invariably members of the Tribe that Dare Not Speak It's Name????

Benjamin Franklin organized a militia in Philadelphia when the Quaker proprietors of Pennsylvania failed to provide protection for the citizens. Google up the Form of Association for Defense. http://www.librarycompany.org/bfwriter/plain.htm

Conspiring to not bother anybody and occasionally point out political frauds and attempts to grab more freedoms in the land of the free? No Threeper WANTS to fight, not any of the good ones anyway. A conspiracy to "live and let live, provided that others do the same"????? Sounds terribly violent. We're all going to hell, aren't we? ... ... ...

One wonders why this over bloated, ass clown, has not assumed room temperature yet. With him being such a HUGE lard ass, I am really surprised that his heart can keep up with the requirements of his obvious food addiction.

One would think Jews would be supportive of the Oath Keepers after their experience in Europe.

That is if one thought rationally.

Pitcavage has been in the forefront of the anti-militia movement for well over a decade. On the FBI payroll, he founded "Militia Watch", calling himself the "militia watch dog".

What he is is a fat, jealous, slob cop wantabee.

He should have had his slobby arse kicked long ago, as often as possible.

I'm OK if the figure was closer to 6%. I just hope we get the same, or a better turn out this time, as that would be even harder for the communist globalist trash to stop.

"anti-immigration border vigilante movement". You sure get around don't you? Six percent and growing!

ADL figures it was 6%? Great! With the 3% figures, I calculated that there's one company sized element (300 people)to 1 law enforcement officer (local, state, federal) in this nation. Perhaps the 3% figure was the worst case.

Force multipliers for the LEO's would be communications infrastructure, air support and armor. Has anyone done any think tank figures to how much of the latter two would defect..?

Is it at 3% yet? Seriously, how many citizens are in this "movement"?

I had a conversation on that exact topic with my (Jewish) architect. He pointed out that the bulk of the holocaust survivors went from Europe to Palestine/Israel. They and their decendants have a very different view on certain relevant topics than their American cousins.

He related that in Israel school children can't go on a field trip without an escort of properly armed adults. Try that one here in the states. He also pointed out that civilian firearms ownership in Israel appears low because there is less reason to own a firearm. They're all in the reserves! Apparently you can also "borrow" weapons from the police forces. Imagine walking into a Chicago PD station and asking the desk sargeant if you could borrow an MP5.

Despite my attempts to improve, I'm still not much good on a man-sized target much beyond 250 meters. Yet I feel that his guy would be mine at 500 no problem.

Damn nice patches. Did Mr. ADL provide any info on where one might purchase them?

"We are officially pronounced an 'anti-government conspiracy.'"

Yes, well, flattery will get him nowhere.

We stand in a long line of anti-government conspirators: Jefferson; Henry; Mason, and countless more throughout history. Good company, all.

ADL stands - where? With the SPLC, ACLU and CPUSA. Evidence links ADL to that DHS/fusion center propaganda where pro-lifers and returning veterans are classed as "potential domestic terrorists."

"Battle lines bein' drawn...."

And the guy gets paid for such "intel"?

For crying out loud, any ten year old with a computer could've found out that much with a few google searches.

This guy should be an embarassment to fifth-grade researchers everywhere, and he probably can't tie his own shoes, to boot.

American Jews never cease to amaze me. These people are faced with a president hell bent on the destruction of their declared homeland, yet their scrupulously left-wing natures ignore all but the radicals who ostensibly threaten the government which hopes to assist in driving Jews into the sea. Anybody wanna bet Obama doesn't get at least 70% of the Jewish vote once again!

Six percent? Hell, that's GREAT!! We're growing by leaps and bounds!!!!

I am a religious Jew, live in NYC, and consider myself a three percenter. There are plenty of Jews who want liberty, small government, and recognize the need to act against statist socialism and national socialism that plagues this country. Too bad this ADL guy didn't sit down with a guy like me to get some info from the horses mouth.

He's an amateur, or has a statist agenda, and therefore should be working for the SPLC. If the ADL were to stick to it's focus of being a watchdog to protect Jews from organized threats, it should turn it's focus on the current administration.

If its 3 or 6% then what is the enemy's percentage piont ?
