hmmm, the commenter's who chide the article's author need to meet Brien Terry's family. Of course, it's blindingly obvious they haven't got a clue there's a world outside their county. Or the ATF's complicity to eventually usurp the 2nd Amendment. I'd bet these same people would be the first ones in the county to scream when the ATF come to seize THEIR guns.

This is DEFENDING the guilty until proven innocent supposed thug? I live in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia and really don’t have a dog in this fight and know nothing of the local characters and/or conditions. From what I READ in the article all that is being called into question is the tactics used by the local LEO’s and ATFE. Hmmmm………………let’s see. Public place, lots of innocent bystanders, ATFE’s notoriety for botched operations. Yep, looks like a clear lack of concern for public safety and grandstanding to impress the local yokels.
For arguments sake let’s assume Mr. Bad Guy did not want to go peacefully or wanted to commit suicide by cop, what kind of mess would THAT have garnered. All those poor innocents eating linoleum and trying to dodge bullets. A much better course of action would have been to take him as he was getting into his car.
You guys REALLY need to have your reading COMPRENSION checked.

This sounds just like the ATF. I once saw them take 30 heavily armed agents to arrest one skinny guy that the average State Trooper would not have needed 5 minutes to handcuff and put in the patrol car.

"Accused Felon" means that he is a felon from a previous conviction, or that he is accused of a felony? Big difference.
