Folks,

When I helped work the Minutemen's border vigil line in Hachita, New Mexico in October of 2005, I came to understand first-hand what a state of fear border residents live in 24-7. There are things you cannot allow yourself to see, especially on your own property. If you do, if you piss off some pollero or drug coyote, your stock will be killed, your fences and waterlines cut, your stock tanks breached, you outbuildings, barns or even your house burned. No one except the folks who live on the border understand the nature of this grinding, unrelenting fear.

Bob Krentz did, and now he's dead.

His death will go largely unnoticed by the state-run media.

We could defend the borders and the rule of law, but we don't.

We could throw the employers of illegals in prison, but we don't.

We could legalize drugs and take the steam out of the cartels, but we don't.

Government needs criminals to justify its existence. Thus the horror for folks like Bob Krentz goes on and on, government grows bigger and bigger, the police get more and more militarized and alienated from the people by the day.

And GOP pukes like Lindsay Grahamnesty just want this to continue, unless the price we pay for them doing their damn jobs is more taxes to support the Leviathan state and less liberty in the form of a biometric ID. "Ausweiss, bitte?"

Damn them all to hell.

Arizona Rancher's Killing Sparks Calls to Beef Up Border Security

FOXNews.com

Three members of New Mexico's congressional delegation have asked for an increase in the Border Patrol's presence, and former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo called on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to dispatch the National Guard to the Arizona border.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is under pressure to beef up border security in the Southwest in the wake of Saturday's killing of a rancher in southeastern Arizona.

Three members of New Mexico's congressional delegation have asked for an increase in the Border Patrol's presence in the Boot Heel of New Mexico, about 10 miles from where the rancher was shot to death over the weekend. U.S. Sens. Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall, along with Rep. Harry Teague, say Napolitano's agency needs to take more security steps.

And former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, an outspoken opponent of illegal immigration, called on Napolitano to "reject politics and do the right thing" by dispatching the National Guard to the Arizona border.

Cochise County Sheriff's Office deputies and detectives responded to an area northeast of Douglas on Saturday after searchers found the body of 58-year-old Robert Krentz inside his all terrain vehicle on his property. Detectives were able to determine that Krentz apparently came upon one person when he was fatally shot and his dog was wounded.

Cochise County investigators said Monday that Krentz likely was killed by an illegal immigrant, but there's no evidence to suggest there was any confrontation that led to the shooting.

Bingaman, Udall and Teague urged a forward operating station for the Border Patrol in the region. Such outposts put agents closer to the international border. Teague -- whose district includes the border area -- says a station in the Antelope Wells area would better protect people and property.

Tancredo, who attended a Tea Party event over the weekend in Arizona, blasted Napolitano for not doing more to secure the border.

“As governor of Arizona, Napolitano deployed the National Guard to help the Border Patrol do its job… Three days ago, Napolitano told an audience at Arizona State University that the border is more secure than ever," Tancredo said Sunday through his Rocky Mountain Foundation. "I challenge her -- no, I dare her -- to come to this community and try to sell that lie.”

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., whose Congressional district covers the area, described the rancher as a pillar of the community who was recently inducted into the Arizona Farming and Ranching Hall of Fame.

"The cold-blooded killing of an Arizona rancher is a sad and sobering reminder of the threats to public safety that exist in our border communities," Giffords said. "It has not yet been determined who committed this atrocity or why, but I know that federal and local authorities are mobilizing every possible resource to locate and apprehend the assailant."

Giffords said if Krentz's killing is connected to drug cartels or smugglers, the federal government must respond appropriately.

"All options should be on the table, including sending more Border Patrol agents to the area and deploying the National Guard," Giffords said.

Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard said government has a clear responsibility to aid law enforcement resources at all levels along the border.

"I call on our federal and state governments to work together to bolster the law enforcement resources needed to better protect Arizonans living on the border," Goddard said

U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Omar Candelaria told the The Arizona Daily Star that if Krentz's killing was tied to such border crime, it would be a first for the area, to his recollection.

At a news conference Monday, Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever said Krentz was out checking water line and fencing on the land Krentz's family has ranched since 1907. Dever says Krentz had weapons with him in his all-terrain vehicle but didn't use them.

Investigators say Krentz apparently came upon one person when he was shot. While Krentz was still in his vehicle, mortally wounded, he managed to drive the ATV away from the scene at a high rate of speed before becoming unconscious.

Sheriff's deputies, U.S. Border Patrol trackers and Department of Corrections dog chase teams followed footsteps approximately 20 miles south to the Mexican border. No suspects have been apprehended.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

This is so sad. I hurt to read this horrible news! From within this Country, Socialism incubates in the heart of fools. Their telescopic tongues protrude to the command of small men that kiss their foot-minded brain and expect the crowd’s applause. In the White House, a fool dances twice to his own folly. Void of balanced compassion, this particular breed of Socialist is dominant in both Parties. Their offspring wiggle into the limelight as they leave the borders open to murderous knaves that fill this country with violence and drugs. And our government has the audacity to call us “Extremists.”

Of course, we don't want to.... militarize the border.

Losing a few good people for the sake of safety and security is a small price to pay, hmm?

Those loving and kind, undocumented, migratory, working class persons with no legal status, who cross the free zone formerly, known as the BORDER, and kill the lawful residents there, only want to workhardobeythelawpaytheirtaxesandraisetheirchildren!

P.S. No human being is illegal.

America, as opposed to the US government, has been under invasion by a foreign government for nearly two decades now. Between 15 and 20 million foreign "troops" are on American soil and refuse to leave.

The US government, at best, acts as a neutral third party, at worst, it aids and abets the invader as an ally of them.

We are at war with Mexico, 20 million of their troops are on our soil, yet we do nothing.

Nothing.

Once again, the Stooopid Branch of The Government Party allows the EEeeeevil branch to control everything.

The Evils cry "RACIST!!" at any suggestion we should defend our borders, burying the truth that we've caught militant islamists (piss be upon them) sneaking through mixed in with the rest of the invaders.

Remember people: We Citizens are to be treated like dangerous, predatory cattle to be allowed to fly from one place to another, but anyone wishing to enter the nation need only walk across the border.

I remember hearing of some bunch who hired an entire circus - brass band, elephants, clowns and all - to parade over the border and back, without any notice WHATSOEVER by any .gov agency.

My daughter - obviously native-born beyond any possible question - had to produce several documents to satisfy the I-9 regulations, but illegals have no problem AT ALL in finding a job.

Best of all, the commu-crats "amnesty" plans are designed to ensure they remain in power for decades and even centuries by creating ~30 million new evil-branch voters.

Remember: the .gov "doesn't have the resources" to secure the border, but will create 200,000+ "new jobs" in the .gov to be sure everyone follows their unconstitutional $10-TRILLION HC mandates.

Are we going to need a *REALLY* big gallows or will lamp-posts suffice?

This whole amnesty issue in the midst of having unsecured borders is like a leaking water pipe.

Our borders are leaking water (illegals) in a constant and steady stream onto the floor of our nation. It causes damage in the form of higher unemployment rates for U.S. citizens, higher crime rates upon U.S. citizens, higher taxes paid by U.S. citizens, etc. Some would rather simply declare the current level of water on the floor to be acceptable. Every time they walk into the room they slosh through an inch of water and pay it no mind. We wouldn't do that in our own homes, why do some think that is acceptable in our national home?

The water being leaked will cause damage to our home if we don't clean it up (and that means get rid of it like we have done at least three times in the last century!). But first you need to fix the leaking pipe! Otherwise, the clean up effort becomes neverending. Greek mythology includes a story of Sisyphus whose version of Hades involved repeating a futile task that was never-ending. Why are some so willing to bring hell on earth in this way?

We know people are being killed, even beheaded and dismembered, along our southern border in the midst of a massive gang and drug war in Mexico. Mexicans are killing U.S. citizens who live on the border, if not also damaging their property, killing their livestock, tainting the water supplies, stealing resources, etc.

If the U.S. government would take action to effectively secure the border against illegals then maybe, just maybe, militias could be more supportive of their government rather than harboring anger towards it?

Small stations at 1-mile intervals with 2 Marines per station at any given time ought to take care of that problem. . . . Or you could just let the people who are already there shoot back (and maybe even shoot FIRST).

Breaking the law, not a U.S. citizen, not subject to provisions of Constitution. After the first few reports of illegals crossing the border getting shot, I bet the numbers decrease.

Yes, damn them all to hell.

So let me get this straight. The Federal government is permitted, in fact supposed to do those things in Article 1 Section 8 like defend the borders, right?

They can't do what they are supposed to do, yet want to do something else entirely outside of their constitutional authority, for our own good?

Anybody see a problem here?

Greetings. I'm writing to comment on something you said. Specifically, "We could throw the employers of illegals in prison, but we don't."

I understand there may be laws against hiring illegals. I'm not up on the specifics. But it seems to me 1) if someone comes across the border and is willing to work minimum wage and do a better job than an American for the same pay... the employer should be able to hire the person who will do the best job for the money offered. Closing the labor market to outsiders doesn't help the over-all economy as it limits competition in the labor market and the employer has a smaller pool of laborers to pick from. This can impact his bottom line and naturally should be something he takes into consideration. If the American wants the job, he should work for it. IMHO, to do otherwise turns our entire country into a huge union shop. It makes it easier for the American worker, but it is really a form of welfare. This does not comport itself with a free market (which we don't have anyway, right now, but I believe we can agree is a goal of liberty-minded people.)

2)There is a real problem, as I understand it, with illegals getting on our welfare rolls (whether single moms getting assitance to feed the children of men they aren't married to, or pregnant moms who show up at the hospital but can't afford to pay for the assistance and just want an "anchor baby", etc.) That's a loophole I'd love to see closed. (And it's not that only illegals do it... other lazy people do it too, and our system enables them all. But adding the least-work-minded population of a neighboring country onto our doles doesn't help.)

Our problem isn't hard-working, honest illegals (although I admit the "honest" part comes into question if you had to sneak across the border). It's lazy, dishonest, drug-dealing, gang-running illegals who are the problem.

I used to be in favor of a wall across or southern border. That was until someone pointed out that a wall which keeps people out can also be used to keep people in. I see that as a problem and couldn't support the "wall" solution after that.

I'm interested to read your thoughts. Thanks for all you do and for keeping a level head in these times. A lot of people look to you for direction and reliable news/commentary.

Question: Why are the Mexicans running north instead of south?

Answer: Because they can.

The government at all levels is tied directly to the drug trade. The is why the poppy fields go unmolested. Our military has been duped into defending the poppy fields via "The War on Terror" so that the flow of drugs and money is not interfered with. It's the same thing with the southern border. FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!!!

The only way the southern border will ever be secured is through the direct actions of armed Americans. We must stop any further abuses committed by the government.

According the the MSM and LE we are suppose to accept any and all laws, rules etc. that are placed on us. If at anytime we disagree with any of these actions then we are considered "anti-government" and should be treated as enemies of the state.

We are being forced to bend our knee to those in power. I refuse to do this at any cost!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strange. When foreigners are committing violence against Americans, where are the snipers and SWAT teams in full riot gear and MP5s?

Oh, I forgot, they have their full attention focused on American citizens.

One border 1969 miles long is equal to 10,396,320 feet. Posting one patrol unit every 500 feet with a scoped rifle would be sufficient to keep that southern border secure. We are only talking about 20,793 patrol units here folks. We have nearly twice as many American troops in South Korea despite the DMZ between north and south Korea being only 151 miles long. Bring half of them home and put them to better use!

This tragedy is totally reminiscent of the state of life for white people in Mugabe-land and those who tried to remain in their ancestral lands of Rhodesia. Indeed, such people may have had great grandparents who did bad things or allowed an unacceptable state of society, but the last two generations - who had nothing to do with any of it - were often targeted for land seizures, assassinations, carjackings, and in several cases, the slaughter of herds of cattle, by government troops.
A friend who came here back in the days when Col. Cooper was still with us, made his acquaintance and later told me that the two of them saw similar dark times for OUR border dwelling citizens, with the direction that Washington was leaning, even back then.
This is also where the quaiunt old saying in Texas came from - "Shoot, shovel and shut up", back in the days of Askins, Keith et al.

I will go in depth. I have lived as the crow flies less than 70 mi from the border in central western TEXAS. The problem with immigrants is bad but not as bad as in El Paso or Ariz.

Different character to a degree heads due north. Not seeking work but seeking a haul of narcotics. My area of TX has a flow of contraband but not as intense. Texas has more legally settled Hispanics and an abundance of illegals which kill our economy.

The border is what you have to actually experience and judge first hand not shut your eyes and think all should be confirmed USA residents. It really affects our economy in major ways also the drug trade in the area is enough to build a barrier and close the traffic permanently.I will go in depth. It's not about the "labor market", fool. It's about law breaking border jumpers, and their complete inability, or lack of desire, to assimilate into our society. They come here illegally. They sit on our welfare rolls when they aren't "employed". The vote DEMOCRAT when given the chance, illegally, or course. They shoot, rape, rob and generally disrespect Americans.

And all you can say as your first argument is that they provide a labor pool.

I can see where your loyalties are.

Land mines! They are cheaper than armed guards and on duty 24 hours a day. We can even be nice and put up warning signs.

Though you would still need some armed guards. Not every stretch of the border could or should be mined.

I am staying out of the poor crimmigrant we should be able to hire them false economic and race debate this time.

It’s someone else’s turn to explain reality!
