Lost several hives to wasps over the years. Silly bees always group together in large bunches and keep all thier eggs/ honey in one basket and never mount a coordinated counter attack to overwhelm the wasps.
It is possible to follow wasps back to thier nest and render the coup du grace to the whole lot. Or you could stand outside the beehive and swat wasps until you get bored (silly wasps always come to beehives, over and over again). Or you can hang wasp traps around the hive to kill wasps. This occurance is not a great problem especially where Africanized bees predominate more so where European hives are in use.
But this discussion really has little to do with apairies does it? The question: is one a docile European bee or a frenzied, fanatical killer bee?
In my world, the ATW is good to kill the bees and wasps.....had a bee sting me in the trigger finger and just below my right aye once at a rifle match and I have never forgiven the buggers. But I know...that was not the point of the post.

An eerie analogy, but how do the honey bees GET said weapons when they're all locked up?

Honey bees don't have opposable thumbs, can't make tools. Brain tiny.
Game's even for tool makers. Too lazy to make tools then die.
Commies everywhere.
