Methinks this editor position has turned Bob's brain to mush!

Death before slavery!

Owens has been drifting towards an anti-self defense position for many months now, becoming more and more shrill as time goes by.

If he continues at this pace, he'll be in Jim Zumbo land, with similar results.

I stopped following his blog after he celebrated the cops summarially executing Chris Dorner by burning the house down around him a la Waco.
To add insult to that injury, he blocked me (and presumably all other dissenters) from comments after I criticized his praise of the barbecue by posting a comment stating that the police state response was irresponsible, reprehensible, and way over the top (remember how the cops wounded several innocent people, riddling their vehicles with dozens of rounds, despite the fact that neither the people nor the vehicles matched the description of Dorner or his vehicle any more than I and my F150 would match a BOLO for the Incredible Hulk driving the Batmobile.)
Owens also goes overboard in criticizing the open carry movement and any other gun rights activity that offends his Fuddness.
In short, IMNSHO, Owens is a pontificating gasbag unworthy of a following.

Sadly Owens has exposed himself as someone who doesn't get it. Moving away from truth and logic, he has finally slipped over the line into outright enemy territory. To hell with Bob Owens: traitor scum.

A real pity since he wrote some pretty fantastic stuff after sandy hook.

I aint a fan of this guy owens.
Figuring out if he's truely pro-gun..
Or a Anti-Gunner pretending to be Pro 2A.
His glock piece was the biggest pile of shit i have read from a alleged Pro Gunner in quite sometime.

He's been known as a White Knight - Mangina in the Appleseed ranks for years now. This is unsurprising.

wasn't the waco raid turned "live" by some idiot drawing a glock and shooting himself in the leg before he got out of the cattle car?

Maybe if we give the cops flintlocks it will stop all of that "hair-trigger" accidental shooting nonsense? ... And the only "alien abduction" that makes sense to me is a foreign banks fiat paper; if you get my drift

The article mentions rule 1 and keeping your finger off the trigger in close proximity. But as I recall rule 1 is a gun is always loaded. Rule 3 is the one about keeping your finger off the trigger...

I'll reiterate what I've said before. Under the Constitution of the United States of America, the government is supposed to rely primarily on the Militia (meaning, militia) to enforce the laws.

That doesn't prohibit the existence of law-enforcement officers, but they should be civil officers like judges. I'm not in favor of such officers being personally involved in the use of lethal force anyway. If there is a situation which does require a potentially lethal response, then the Constitutional law-enforcement officer should appeal to the local militia to enforce the law under his orders.

So, making it clear that I don't believe that we should even have 'cops' in the first place, and that such law-enforcement officers as we do need should not personally employ lethal force in the course of their duties, I have to say that there is also room to suggest that certain kinds of military hardware are inappropriate to issue to civil law enforcement even if you're going to have armed cops.

I naturally believe that cops should be restricted from being ABLE to respond with overwhelming force without the active and immediate support of the local armed militia. So that biases me to always think that it is appropriate to restrict cops from employing more lethal weapons in the course of their duties.

The Glock is a more lethal weapon than other available handguns. I think that is the gist of what Bob Owens is saying. I find the reasoning unobjectionable and sound...it matches my existing impression that the Glock is a reliable military-grade sidearm (whether or not it is the 'best' I can't say, but I personally do not like the Glock for 'aesthetic' reasons).

Thus there is room to question whether it is contributing to 'over-militarization' of the police, as represented by an increase in adverse incidents characteristic of military operations rather than necessary to civil law enforcement.

Bob Owens hasn't been on our side for a long time, if he ever was at all. Just look to his recent post supporting Universal Background Checks, his borderline cop apologist tendencies, and how negatively he reacts to Open Carry and Constitutional Carry for evidence.

Fud, Zumboner, and but-ter.
No suprise that the LA TIMES, aka Pravada West, is willing to publish this Schmuck.

I have one word for ya that should have tipped people off YEARS ago -

BOTCHED!

No Bob, gun walker wasn't a "botched" endeavor any more than any shooting is a gun's fault. Both, like your writings, are 100% "operator error" -as in poor decision making skills.
