Note that the media seems to believe that there are actually two separate shutdowns going on here; one apparently caused by a group called "Republicans", the other caused by a different group called "Democrats". You will also note that the media is full of stories about how this is good or bad for Obama, good or bad for the Republicans, good or bad for the Democrats. What you will find darn few of are any serious stories explaining how this is good or bad for the United States or it's people.
Read a couple of the negative comments blaming it all on the GOP - then I realized this was a WAPO article. The 'media' is doing a masterful job of deflecting the blame away from the real culprits.........
I loved the fact that the greatest generation led the way, I just wish they would have done a better job of raising their worthless children who have done so much to hurt this nation.

Those guys whipped two of the three worst,(and most heavily armed), dictatorships of the 20th century. You think a half-dozen gay park police are gonna faze 'em?
Yes media is still playing the "blame Bush" card billed today as "blame republicans (which only served to cloud the things Bush was actually to blame for and really does the same thing regarding republicans today.
However, the situation is actually quite SIMPLE. ALL BILLS regarding taxation and spending must ORIGINATE in the Peoples House. It is OUR MONEY, not governments money, and WE THE PEOPLE must AGREE through OUR HOUSE for ANY money to be taxed or spent. If WE via OUR HOUSE reject spending by refusing to pass spending legislation regarding a particular government request or demand - TOUGH TITTY.
If government shuts down beyond what the HOUSE refuses to fund because the Senate decides not to accept funding for other aspects of government trying to force the house to fund more THEN the entire fiasco belongs to the SENATE -and last time I looked DEMOCRATS. Big government progressive loyalist DEMOCRATS control that portion of the legislative body.
The "shutdown" is in the laps of the Democrats lick stock and barrel. 100%. It's a simple matter of constitutional authority. The founders provided a default relief valve for out of control spending in government - the people's house saying UMMMMM NOPE! And we are witnessing that valve work EXACTLY as designed.
Old Yellowstain must realize that if he does not lead a serious charge back toward good graces on the constitutional front that he will be embarrassed in his primary. I'm glad he's being forced to take this stand but I think most recognize that actuality - he isn't leading this at all - like the NRA regarding gun walker- Boehner is being drug along kicking and screaming the whole way.
