"Revolvers are obsolete. Oh, they’re fun to shoot. I like shooting them. And they’re fantastic as a hobby gun. I’ve only ever owned two (one was given to me) because auto loaders are just superior.""Uh, you better rethink that one boy."

Oh yeh The Semiauto Brain cramp. This is the same sheep like unthinking mentality that fostered the 100 round "Hi Cap" fad. Or what we old timers called "The spray and pray" school of shooting. But thank God that we still have the right to look all Tacticool and dork like on our days off (them that still have jobs) After all it really don't matter how long they last or if you can get replacement parts and mags down the road , as long as you have a plastic 30 round mag, and it looks COOL. After all Everybody knows that looking like a Ninja badass makes you more dangerous -Right?
Do not sass the man with the Colt 1860 Army.
At least in Florida, black powder pistols are not considered "firearms". Doesn't matter. If you're hit in a good spot with a .44 round ball, your day is pretty much headed south.
While it is true that it takes a while to reload, if he's any kind of a shot, the owner can reload at his leasure while standing over his target's cooling body.
Anyone who thinks their revolver is obsolete can contact me through you to arrange transfer to my revolver retirement village.
Must be that is why Smith and Wesson spends millions in R&D for new revolver designs. The .500 magnums seem to be selling well even in this Obama Depression. I have had a Model 57 for nearly thirty years and use it for hunting large game. Works very nice. Is this the same guy that decided that fighter jets no longer needed to have a gun because dog fighting had gone out of fashion. Worked really well on the F-4 Phantom. When ever the experts tell you something don't be to quick to take their word for it.
I'll just quote another Clint Eastwood one liner.
Opinions vary.

Ruger Blackhawk single-action, extraordinarily-strong action, in .45Colt with 6 handloads is a test of the shooter (and the target), then a fine hand-club.
2nd gun reload: Nagant revolver. Inexpensive, well-tested.
Semi-auto? Tokarev. http://tiny.cc/5x334w
Recently used by a buddy to take a grouse on the wing: "like a laser". Pix of mounted bird in spring.
Use enough gun. Have extra guns.

Six steady well aimed shots still beat seventeen quick misses!

Yes, of course they are obsolete..they are clunky to fire and and slow to reload. Here's proof!
I couldn't find an auto-loader in 45-70.
Just saying.
Well, duh. Of course they are obsolete. That's why you won't find a modern military or law enforcement agency on the planet that uses them. That doesn't mean they are useless or lack value, but anyone who would choose to take one into battle over a decent semi is a fool.
