Well, well. The New York Times notices San Antonio.

The 'Ew York Times just has to get their dig about "assault weapons" in there. It is very unlikely that everyone is going to be carrying an AR-15 or similar to the rally. Nothing about the actual battle, weapons used then, or even why the Alamo is important in our history. I hope your trip goes well. GC

They have also asked those participating to observe “proper muzzle etiquette” and to carry their weapons with a sling, a long strap that allows the gun to be slung over the shoulder, to “promote a nonaggressive manner of carry.” [emphasis added]

The fact that the reporter and/or the editor of this piece thought it necessary to explain the function of a sling demonstrates how profoundly ignorant the NYT's staff and/or primary readership is WRT firearms.

Oh, that's what a sling is for. Who would have thought it had a single use?
