Money can't buy happiness for citizen disarmament in the Rockies. Victory in Colorado.

How sweet is this headline?: "2 Colo. lawmakers ousted in gun control recalls."
Reported contributions to Morse and Giron totaled about $3 million, dwarfing the amount raised by gun activists who petitioned for the recall, though some independent groups didn't have to report spending.

I wonder if those county sheriffs in Colorado who said they aren't gonna enforce those laws are sticking to their statements. Congrats to those patriots in Colorado who accomplished this and thanks to The NRA for their help! I hope Bloomberg enjoyed throwing his money away.

And that's why the usurper was on TV last night. Media across the board is shushing this crystal clear single issue RECALL ousting of anti constitution zealots.

It's just like medias refusal to tell any truth since the usurper hit the scene. Remember when we got a daily running body count of casualties? Yeah when the other guy was president. Well, CNS put together a simple list -

Total U.S. Combat Deaths in Afghanistan

2001: 5

2002: 30

2003: 31

2004: 49

2005: 94

2006: 87

2007: 111

2008: 151

2009: 303

2010: 497

2011: 494

2012: 294

2013: 91 (From Jan. 1, 2013 to Sept. 10, 2013)

If "reporters" won't tell the truth then its up to the rest of us to share TRUTHFUL knowledge. This is the best way we can make the Democrats, along with the feckless republicans who act just like them, OWN their loyalist actions that are literally killing us in civilian life AND military life at demonstrably INCREASED numbers as a direct result of their LIES and progressive BULLSHIT.

Thanks, Mike, for being one of the remaining truth tellers.

At the moment, I live in Morse's district. Obviously, I've been involved, and following this closely. The fact that this victory was a squeaker in a conservative Christian/military stronghold like Colorado Springs tells us what we're up against.

The left is FAR more organized and better funded than we are. They're the Borg, and they're as relentless as gravity.

We had three separate left wing groups hiring "volounteers" at $10/hr., with enough funds to work them 8 hours a day for the last 10 days. Among other things, these "volunteers" hit every house in Morse's district on election day.

There were other indicators: the pro-Morse yard signs featured two colors of ink to our cheaper black ink only signs.

With my local IP address, I got multiple pro-Morse popup ads every time I did something on the net, and every local and cable channel was overrun with support for him as well. These ads focused on the out of state NRA money, while ignoring their own out of state funding that was an order of magnitude greater.

Finally, the laws are such that anyone could register on election day and then vote on the spot, with no confirmation that they actually live here. It would have been interesting to be an election judge just to have some idea how widespread the fraud actually was.

So, we won one, and that's wonderful, but the real lesson is that we're not even close to competing with them yet.

Personally, I'm just happy to have had a bunch of my local friends and enemies identify themselves with yard signs. And yes, I took notes...

Good article by John Lott:

Looks like gun control in the West, where even D's and liberals have guns, is a loser...

"It's just like medias refusal to tell any truth since the usurper hit the scene."

Well, I think it goes back a lot longer than that. :-) Here's Jefferson's take on it:
"It is a melancholy truth, that a suppression of the press could not more completely deprive the nation of its benefits, than is done by its abandoned prostitution to falsehood. Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle."

Hey Mike. Here’s something to consider concerning these recalls:

As glad as I am that a couple of anti-gunners have been given their pink slips, I think that the recall elections we’ve had in recent years will ultimately hurt everyone. Here's why:

The recall process is there so the citizens have an avenue to remove a politician who has engaged in major corruption, or whom is just so bad that removal is necessary. It is not there to remove a politician simply because they passed a law that some people don't like. While using the recall process to fight for our rights is a great thing, one could argue that the way it has been utilized in the past few years is an abuse of that particular “tool of liberty”.

Here’s where I’m going with this: Back in 2010, the Left set a very bad precedent by trying to recall Wisconsin Gov. Walker and 6 other Republicans over a change in the law governing collective bargaining. You probably remember that…..…the Leftists in Wisconsin went absolutely ape-shit for months on end. The Walker recall drive was an attempt to make a grand political statement and it failed miserably.

At the same time, there was a recall effort here in Michigan to recall Gov. Snyder, but it never really got off the ground. The politicians in Lansing (both D and R) saw what happened in Wisconsin, and they immediately moved to make the recall process a lot more difficult.

Flash forward to Colorado 2013. Two sleazy anti-gun politicians are gone, despite far outspending us pro-gunners, and that’s good. But I'll tell you what though: Politicians all over the country in every government are seeing this, and they don't like it one bit......because they all know that they themselves could be next. This recall business is a very real threat to the political class, and they will all come together to protect themselves from the proletariat. You can bet that as I’m writing this, other States are now going to make recall elections a lot more difficult, if they haven't started doing so already. You could say that it’s going to be one of the “Unintended Consequences” of these recent recall efforts.

@Old Greybeard: RE - "I wonder if those county sheriffs in Colorado who said they aren't gonna enforce those laws are sticking to their statements."

I have friends at our gun club (located way out in the boonies to accommodate all kinds of shooting) who have been individually stopped by Deputies of three different counties for speeding on country roads to or from the range (a topic for a different discussion!).

Two of those stopped said the Deputies made no comment about the guns and magazines in plain sight in their cars. One of the Deputies (El Paso country where the recall was just successful) looked at the open range box of full capacity (30 round) AR15 mags in the back seat and just made a comment, "You must have stocked up before the stupid new law," and never brought them up again (but did give my friend a ticket for speeding).

We can tentatively draw from this that some of those departments stating they would not enforce the law are following through.
