And the voting with wallets (a necessary preparatory to voting with cartridge boxes) goes on and on . . .

Ammunition Flies Off Store Shelves Amid New Restrictions, Rumors.
The nation's 100 million firearms owners are driving the market for some 10 billion rounds annually, with demand and gun purchases both increasing the past several months, driven partly by fear that tougher laws will restrict the ability to buy firearms, said Lawrence Keane, whose National Shooting Sports Foundation is based in Newtown. . .
The major U.S. manufacturers are running shifts around the clock to try to meet increased demand, Keane said. The foundation projected $1.5 billion from ammunition sales in 2011 and $2.8 billion from gun sales, totals that more than doubled in a decade.

When a legislator SAYS, whether it be State or Federal, that they are going to attempt to restrict, or ban, access to ammo, that is NOT a rumor, it is, instead, a fact. We let the media ramp this up so that it is seen as a conspiracy implemented by 2A supporters. Why? The same goes for banning guns. Lawmaker after lawmaker are trying to implement a ban, why do we let them categorize US as the people who are nutjobs? It IS all about banning guns and ammo, nothing less. Molon Labe

Fractures and fissures appearing everywhere. Those who bother to look can see the writing on the wall. Folks, if there's something you need for the coming storm, get it now. It won't be much longer till cash and credit card debt both will be irrelevant.

Hi Mike, heard this one?

Sen. John Morse of CO says he grants right of AR ownership
The Durango Herald 02/26/2013 | Assault-weapons bill targets liability

“The reality is, these folks don’t have a Second Amendment right to buy these guns. I’m not going there in this bill. I’m granting them the right, if you will, as long as they take 100 percent of the responsibility, both to sell it, to buy it, to possess it, to shoot it, the whole kit and kaboodle,” Morse said.

major manufactures are NOT working around the clock shifts. i work at the plant where federal, cci, speer and blazer are made. some days NOTHING is produced..not just one shift, but for all 3...ZERO output..

please show alliant techsystems ATK..how you feel about their willing collusion in the ammo shortage by boycotting blackhawk, champion, gunslick, weaver, outers, eagle industries, forse on forse, buck commander and duck commander products.
oh, by the way, ATK is a large obamma contributor...i would not be suprised if they were taking work slow down orders directly from the white house.

would it be safe to say then xtron, that since ATK got a major contract from the admin by way of DHS for millions of dollars for ammo, that this was a kick back for the campaign contribution?

I would be extremely intereested if you can document your allegations. Did/do you keep a log detailing days/shifts, etc ?

OTOH, there may be an "upside" to this (real or manufactured) ammo shortage. I have infinite faith some genius is hard at work in their basement creating a viable alternative. >Jeff

xtron, that's an interesting statement that I would love to see some corroborating info on. IF ATK is in fact colluding with BHO to suppress the supply side of the market, that would be absolutely explosive! Be sure to post again PLEASE - WITH A LINK.

As for my original thought re: voting with wallets, it just proves what several of us (myself, Mike V., and others) have already said several times now: people are not stocking up so they can hand it over to the government, or bury it in the ground, or have some for a rainy day. The unprecedented volume of ammo being bought by the public is evidence that Americans are prepping for war against their out-of-control government!

If not for that reason, then for the simple fact that when Obummer finally collapses the economy, chaos will reign and we'll all be defending ourselves from the Obamazombies pouring out of the inner cities in search of free whatever; food, drugs, water, fuel, etc!

They have killed hundreds of Mexicans and TWO federal agents implementing a plan from the Whitehouse, without any action on the part of anyone within or without government.

Explosive my ass.

It wasn't even reported because of the damage it would have done to this Marxist cabal currently running and destroying everything they can, in order to gain even more power and control of you and your children.

How much is enough?

... and every private ammo manufactory in the World is reloading as fast as handles can be worked!

Makes Las Vegas one armed bandit players look like amatuers.

Reload! There may be no tomorrow ...

Anon@9:36, we know that the F&F saga, the whole sordid affair was suppressed by the MSM. You're mixing the issues. I'm talking about ATK and evidence they are colluding with Obummer to prevent Americans from building up their own ammo stockpiles. I'm talking about lighting the powderkeg in the minds of patriots!

Just because the MSM suppresses a story doesn't mean that they can kill the story; we have the blogosphere and the alternative media to get the truth out on whatever is going on. A story can still be explosive even if the propagation of that story takes an unconventional route to inform the masses. In this case, just imagine the reaction of 100 million gun owners and the 3% ahead of them to documented proof that the Kenyan Imposter is trying to go after our ammo!

At some point, something's gotta give. If people are willing to take up arms to resist door-to-door gun confiscation (or even the prerequisite registration lists), The same standard has to apply to the ammo!

A firearm is not the 'weapon itself'; it is merely the weapon delivery system. Bullets are the weapon. And if we are going to defend our ability to resist, it must begin with the ammo.

When the revolutionary war started on April 19, 1775, it started because government troops were sent by the Crown to seize, primarily, the colonists' ammunition. Any attempt to deprive us of ammunition must necessarily be defended at all costs, just as it was 238 years ago!

12 days remaining till Patriot's Day. Huzzah!!
