"To intimidate and to show power."

From a reader with a link to video.
He writes: "Jump right to the 1:35 - 2:10 footage for the money quotes. Your jaw will hit the deck.
"Emeryville, CA Police Chief Ken James claims it is a myth that guns have a defensive purpose. He says that "Police Officers do not carry a gun as a defensive weapon" and, further, explicitly states that they are carried by officers for offensive use only -- that they use them "to intimidate and to show power."

Just another dufus pretending to "serve and protect." However, to "serve and protect" ceased to be an operational description of modern police when they became militarized and transitioned from "Peace Officer" to "Law Enforcement Officers" (LEOs) and became tools of the wannabe societal controllers at all levels.

Now, many LEOs are transitioning again, from "Law Enforcement Officers" to "Legally Entitled to Oppress." While there still are some well-intentioned men and women wearing badges who are trying to be peace officers and serve and protect the public, they are being overshadowed and forced into a minority role by the new Gestapo mentality as exemplified by the dufus Chief of Police in the video.

It ain't going to get any prettier folks...

the commissioner is mistaken

the SCOTUS ruling in garner vs tennessee, in rather plain language, stated that the only time an officer could shoot a suspect was if he was convinced his life was in danger, ot to protect the life of another. this is the definition of self defence.
any other shooting was ruled to be a violation of the fourth and fourteenth amendments. bottom line...the police cannot enforce the law at the point of a gun.

BTW...if SWT teams are armed with AR-15 type weapons...for self defence..would not the equal protection clauses allow civilians to posses the same weapons for the same reason??

Uh. Yeah. Precisely. Defense is only offense back at ya. By definition.

There's a question about that, or something?

Now, more than ever, the citizen needs a personal defense rifle.

Out of their own mouths.....

So SWAT and the Alphabet Fed agencies have these weapons to do what? INTIMIDATE the population!

What a TOOL!

I am sorry but I can find no other word to describe this "peace" officer.

If you ever get a chance to visit Williamsburg Virginia tour the colonial village and see how it was in 1775.
The best part was the British government house . When you walk in the door the ceiling is 20 foot high and on it floor to ceiling muskets on one wall , swords on another , pistols on another. Literally thousands of weapons of war .
Of course the Brits would parade the locals through, to show there great power and to shut up and stay in line . The best part was when fighting broke out it was the likes of Patrick Henry that took them off the walls to use on the British

I am sure that any attorneys suing his department for let us say excessive force will be grateful for this bit of evidence.

Wouldn't a blackjack do as well for this purpose?

Boys and grills, he's just another productive member of the states apparatus. He views this as just doing his job, protecting the state which he interprets as being the people. When anyone breaks ranks and quotes the bill of rights or constitution, they have attacked the state and the state's interests and thereby become his enemy.

In his mind the people exist for and to serve the state and he will never see it any other way.

How many more of these have we in our midst? Many, many and all home grown by, who? That very state. How self serving is that? And, do you ever see a point at which they will become "reasonable"?

I suspect only at the end of a pointy stick.

Hmm.. It sure looked to me that they were the one's easily intimidated by Dorner.. scared shitless is more like it.. if they had 500 after them in a large city they'd run like rats.
They are used to getting away with intimidation and violating people, like all bullies they act in fear on a daily basis and operate in a kind of psychotic "I'm a victim" mindset that makes their transgressions OK.. NOT
That showed up so clearly it shocked America openly. They aint the hero's anymore and they showed themselves to be no longer all powerful.. a bald head, rough attitude and an angry approach will no longer be enough to get over and they have laid the foundation for their own demise because you know the gangs picked up on that failure as well.. they are targets already, more from gangs than us and it wont matter how many houses they burn down any more.. and the armed American citizen hasnt even come into the picture yet... real sophisticates, LMAO!

I live in Williamsburg, and what you may find here, hidden in the outlying community, is several hunderd citizens armed to the teeth with armour piercing ammunition and ceramic armour.

These tyrants will have a tough time with us, I guarantee it.

Those of you who havent convinced yourselves that the time for standing on the soap box, or voting at the ballot box has not produced good results, I think you should do as those of us in Williamsburg, we are at the third box now, the ammo box.

The time for talk is rapidly receeding.
