Marijuana? That's nothing. What about that scary Jimson Weed? What about those evil mushrooms I see in cow paddies? When will big brother protect me from those horrible things!

The thought of the BATFE being renamed the A.T.M.F. brings me pure, blissful joy. I read about this yesterday and still can't stop giggling. I just can't think of a better initialism to represent what they really do.

hey, who knows, they might mellow out a bit. Kinda reminds me of that cheech & chong routine: "Knock Knock....who's there? It's me man, Dave, let me in. Dave? Dave? Dave's not here...."

If the stoners knew anything they would be screaming to have the ATF disbanded too . . .

The only reason they want to control weed is so they can tax it. Same with alcohol or any other substance they claim jurisdiction over. It's not about consumer safety as they won't be testing all weed sold, just like they don't test all booze sold.

Bad booze, bad weed, bad anything hitting the consumer market will result in severe consumer punishment as well as criminal sanctions due to fraud and/or personal injury.

I know, remotely and not intentionally, some F Troop "Special Agents" (oh, they are special, but not in the way they like to think!) who are constantly showing up at the range with new and exotic toys they have "acquired" for their personal collection. Wonder how much weed they'll "acquire" for their personal collections...may have to start watching my six more when they are present at the range.

The "stoners"* do know a thing or two , and have been warning anyone that would listen , for decades , that the war on drugs will eventually morph into a war on guns . Well , here we are .

*People that never bought into command economy prohibition BS .

... so banning stuff does not work? Duh, Hommer!

Got to get the War on Drugs out of the way to commence the War on Guns; I guess ...

This is talking about the "commercial" grower & seller. What about the private home grower & user? Will that be regulated & taxed too? Good luck trying to enforce that!

My friends put this video together:

Looks like they want to end marijuana prohibition the same way they ended alcohol prohibition - by dangling tax revenues in front of cash-starved legislatures (except the fed govt of course, who can just print their money). It's a lot easier to grow a pot plant than to set up a still though, so I'm guessing there will be a lot of non-compliant pot smokers. All to the good, as far as I'm concerned.

Of course the war on drugs is just as unconstitutional as the war on guns.
