The Last Statement of Tom Ball.

Incredible.

Link NG. Try this:

Keene Sentinel Story.

The document was sent to all the NH press, I think. I read it in .pdf at the Manchester Union Leader yesterday. That paper noted that Ball was probably going to jail for support nonpayment.

His spectacular suicide wasn't only the proverbial permanent solution to a temporary problem, at bottom it was a pretty crummy thing to do -- he was so embittered towards his ex that he was willing to screw up his kids' heads.

Is divorce court stacked against men? Sure it is, and the sun rises in the East. Deal with it. Or opt out: join the marriage strike. Mr Ball did everything wrong, from the beginning to the painful end. His problems, like his death, were largely of his own making.

This tragedy occurred on June, 15, in the town of Keene, New Hampshire.

Twenty-one years of military service deeply engrained the "sheepdog" credo in Tom Ball. In the end, he was unable to visit slaughter upon his oppressors and instead turned his hand against himself.

Samson, the OT judge, is properly remembered not for the dishonor he earned revealing the secret of his strength to Delilah, but for having reclaimed his honor when he sacrificed his life to ensure wanton destruction of the Philistines.

It is always better to take a lot of Philistines with you than to die alone.

I can not say that Mr Ball (may he rest in peace, now) made the right decisions but he did make a number of salient points about the perils of involving the state in issues of the family.

This was a tragic end to a long and sorrow-filled series of events. I can only hope that someone, perhaps his children, learn something from all of this.

My heart goes out to his children and I sincerely hope the next plane of existence, whatever it is, is governed by a truer and more just power than the corrupt sham we now witness in Amerika.

"Deal with it" Anon 113am?

How at that point? Marriage strike doesn't apply to him at that stage, only as a lesson for young men. They would have tossed him in the slammer and then increased the interest. Is it bad for his kids? Yes. Life sucks, buy a helmet by your own metric. The blame lies not solely with Mr. Ball but the corrupt system and its abusers. I doubt however we'll hold society, the system or the ex wife accountable. The lawyers and women benefit too much.

Quoted "So boys, we need to start burning down police stations and courthouses. The Second Set of Books originated in Washington. But the dirty deeds are being carried out by our local police, prosecutors and judges. These are the people we pay good money to protect us and our families. And what do we get for our tax money? Collaborators who are no different than the Vichy of France or the Quislings of Norway during the Second World War. All because they go along to get along. They are an embarrassment, the whole lot of them. And they need to be held accountable. So burn them out."

Reminds me of another call to action re: windows??

This man was not crazy. It's a shame he took his life, he makes several very good points. Gotta go fill some gas cans......

When you take away everything that matters to a man,
Don't be surprised when he acts as if he's got nothing left to lose.

May all involved in the horrors visited upon this man -- and countless of his Brethren across our Republic -- feel the fires of a hell a thousand times hotter than those he brought to bear upon himself.

If he was going down he should have taken some with him, just saying. Regardless, it's a sad commentary when our system brings a man to this point. The same could be said of the IRS, for one guy flew a plane into a tax office because he had reached his limit too. Clearly, something is wrong with our country on so many levels.

I remember reading about another guy who took a paternity DNA test and was declared NOT to be the father of his ex-girlfriend's child. The true father could not be found so the courts declared it would be in the best interest of the child if this unrelated guy paid child support for 18 years. One injustice after another after another and they always seems to favor the woman. Men are getting tired of it.

If there should ever be a revolution and men regain control of this country I predict women will be in for a rude awakening at the changes those men implement.
