Another country heard from. One more "only one" collectivist anal sphincter with a badge and a firearm confiscationist impulse.

McCarthy: NRA, Palin a part of 'government-sponsored racism'

"So here’s what I want to tell you. See, let’s see if we can make a connection here. Slavery. Segregation. Black codes. Jim Crow. What, what did they all have in common? Anybody getting’ scared? Government sponsored racism."

"Now I want you to connect one more dot on that chain of the African American history in this country, and tell me if I’m crazy. Federal gun laws that facilitate the flow of illegal firearms, into our urban centers across this country, that are killing our black and brown children," he said.

"The NRA does not like me, and I’m okay with that. We’ve got to get the gun debate back to center, and it’s got to come with the recognition of who’s paying the price for the gun manufacturers being rich and living in gated communities," McCarthy said.

A side note:
Even though new information continues to trickle out on F&F, for the past few days a Google news search for F&F continues to place stories attacking Issa at the top of the results stack.

DOJ has just launched another anti-trust investigation against Google.

Are they related in any way, or am I just making a connection that doesn't exist?

He's actually somewhat right while still being completely wrong. Disarmament of the black community at the state and local level was the government-sponsored racism, not so much federal gun laws.

Clayton Cramer did an excellent piece a while back called "The Racist Roots of Gun Control" that would probably get this Chi-town gun banner as confused as a dog trying to fly the space shuttle.

There's something very symbolic about their gun police being called CAGE.

Ooh! He is going to hurt himself leaping to unfounded conclusions "Federal gun laws that facilitate the flow of illegal firearms, into our urban centers across this country" from the fact of "Government sponsored racism."

Government Sponsored Racism:

Affirmative Action. Hurts the alleged beneficiary most and for a lifetime. Who wants a doctor who got into and passed medical school on a "special" program, or even possibly was "passed" with less than the same rigor as a non-preferred 4th generation son of doctors? AA hurts everyone who pays taxes or couldn't get into school or a productive job due to a quota.
Gun Control that disarms poor honest people, making them more often victims of criminals and less respectable to Police.
Failure to recognize that different children can be educated to their potential in different ways, and that all children will not be in the upper 5%.
Federal, State, County, Municipality, City, Township contract set-asides for preferred contractors.

Racism is not good policy even when it hurts the "right people", according to the mob. It's wrong and not fair to individuals.

Cheers.

Mr. McCarthy is British. They have no 2nd Amendment, so why should they believe in it? In that regard, this one at least is not as bad as his counterparts in the States.

Mea cowpie. Meant prior comment to go against the Brit twit.

Please put my standard Chicago pigs comment here instead. For it is THEY who are going to willingly follow this fine "Leader." Aren't they truly a wonderful bunch of Oath Keepers?

How about the Democrat Party, Mr. Superintendent? It was Democrats in the "solid south" that dreamed all that up. In fact, so far as my research has been able to uncover, the Democrat Party has been the author of ALL government sponsored racism in this country.

So is he implying the feds are suplying guns to the inner cities of America to boost the gun crime stats too? If there was an operation Gunrunner/Fast and Furious to Mexico, could the Feds be doing something domestically similar?

We Brits may not have a 2nd amendment (or any for that matter), but you guys feel strongly about using our language, values, common law and beliefs...
As for you Yanks...
"...the flow of illegal firearms, into our urban centres across this country, that are killing our black and brown children"
What about "our" innocent white children killed in the crossfire? Do they merit no acknowledgement?
Here in Germany where I teach just outside of Dachau, the Jewish community, which also suffered a form of "Government sponsored racism," is slowly building itself back. One doesn't see anyone forced to justify or make any excuses for them killing in the streets with automatic weapons, promote violent misogyny and homophobia in their music, wear their trousers down to their ankles and engage in various other anti-social behaviour. I am very sympathetic to the black community's history of abuse and persecution. But I am equally convinced by people like Bill Cosby who declare that the solution lies in their leadership, families and communities and not in an outdated persecution complex 40 years after the initiation of the Great Society.

Is it just me, or does it peg the irony meter for a government official to accuse the government of racism? If you think you're a racist, you should seek help for that.

This is, in the larger scheme of things, perhaps a small matter, but it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine:

Federal gun laws that facilitate the flow of illegal firearms . . .

Which federal gun laws, specifically, do that, Gerry? Don't you mean a lack of federal gun laws (and you'd still be wrong, but at least a little closer to making some twisted kind of sense)?

It just seems to me that the collectivist attitude is one of such profound worship of authority, that they attribute everything that happens--good or bad--to (good or bad) laws. It's as if they can't imagine anything happening without a government mandate for it.

Good things that happen, do so because good laws made them happen, and bad things happen because bad laws made them happen. Independent action of the citizenry never enters into the picture. Kinda convenient, I guess, for those who don't wish to take responsibility for any of their actions.

If this guy is following "Father" Phleger, you KNOW he is a big Marxist and a gun-grabber.

Wow. I read his first comment and thought, "Holy Cow! A Dumba**crat that actually knows history!" Then I read his next comment, and was so disappointed.

Someone should relate to Mr. McCarthy the story of the Deacons and how he is right: federal gun laws ARE racist. If he cares about those black and brown children (apparently, the deaths of white or Asian children is OK with him), he really should try to get more legal firearms in the hands of law-abiding Chitown denizens.

Of course, ending AA and working to get the "black community" to rebuild families, values and acceptable norms of behavior would be helpful, too. But Democrats cannot get elected without their privileged victim groups staying on the plantation.

Think any of these rabid animals will actually get any time for this?

PDXR13: Every educated black person I know would agree -- and one summed it up in a particularly striking way:

"If I ever need brain-surgery, I want a WHITE GUY!"

"Why would you say that?!"

"Because I don't want my last conscious thought to be 'I sure hope this guy got where he is because he's GOOD - and not because he's black!'..."

Every time AA is enforced, someone was denied because of the color of their skin.

I thought this was what we were trying to get AWAY FROM!!

Help me out here: Wasn't the goal supposed to be "...content of their CHARACTER - and *NOT* the color of their SKIN!!"??!!

Meh...

It's not going to change until the whole thing collapses...

I'm pretty sure that's what they have in mind. Then they will ride in with a "new plan" since freedom, free markets and capitalism "doesn't work."

Create a problem and then fix it.... and us along with it. Oh well, as long as they have their Zils to ride around in it's all good, for them!
