Bragging Rights

The airborne creature in the photo above is my daughter Hannah on her way back to earth after making a save by parrying an incoming shot at a recent college game in Colorado. Hannah plays for Southern Miss. At the age of three, we discovered her standing on a step-stool in the bathroom, looking in the mirror and practicing her delivery of the word "No!" until she got the right combination of command voice inflection and facial picture.

My wife forwarded me this picture this morning and I had to exercise my paternal bragging rights by posting it here. May God help the guy who persuades her to marry. When she says "No!" she means it.

PS: And don't let anybody tell you that white girls can't jump.

College Soccer Girls!

Check out those legs on #11: wow. Is there an exercise machine that needs a paid endorser?

Image soundtrack: Pink Floyd "Learning to Fly".

Cheers.

Well, Mike.... let's all hope she lands a Godly man, strong and honorable, who gives her no reason to say "No" while courting. Let's pray they will follow a Godly way of married life, and do nothing other than build each other up, and raise good grandchildren to you.

Mike: I have a nice young (24 yrs old) nephew. He's a lieutenant in the USAF attached to the 82nd Airborne. Does your daughter like nice young USAF lieutenants?

So may it be!

This will become my prayer for my daughters as well.

Thank you!

Yeah.... But can she shoot?

Just joking! No need for that quad 50 to do a gun check in my direction! Really!

Nice save! As a former goalie though, try to get her to wear some knee pads....they may not be comfortable, but 20-odd years down the road she'll be glad she did. I am.

And is there a dad anywhere that DOESN'T brag about their daughter?!? I thought that was part of our job description!

Congrats, Mike. As a father of a former D-I nationally-ranked female who was an All-American in Strength and Conditioning, I appreciate and honor your pride. Mine was invited to apply as an honors student, took the 4-year "full boat" in athletics, earned two master's degrees while attaining national amateur champion status and two plus years as a professional, and then gave me two wonderful grandkids via her very talented DIY-er hubby. We taught her to 'summon the magic'.

Dedicated Pop...

Take it, pal! Free to you and all. I love the idea of good gals marrying good guys, and making us all proud. I hope your kiddos land good ones, and treat them well. :)
