The other key quote in the article comes from Wichita defense lawyer Jeff Griffith: “There is enough crime out there, why do you have to manufacture it? You are really creating crime, which then you are prosecuting. You wonder where the moral high ground is in this.” I’m pretty sure it lies well above the level at which federal agents talk mentally challenged people into getting squid tattoos.

Anonymous said...: It's easy to understand why ATF and FBI manufacture crime waves that they subsequently gallop in on a white horse to stop. Manufacturing the crime and the criminals gives them control over the situation - it removes variables like actual dangerous thugs who might decide to shoot back when cornered. Getting shot by a common thug when you're a member of an "elite" group isn't good PR, not to mention playing havoc with future retirement plans.

As for independent counsels - There will be no independent counsel on *anything* as long as John Boehner is speaker. House Repubs need to cut the bullshit and replace this boo-hooing boob ASAP.
That an independent counsel hasn't been assigned to investigate any of the half-dozen serious scandals swirling about so far is inexplicable.

Benghazi.
IRS.
Fast and Furious.
Solyndra.
Spying on the AP.
Holder perjury (every time he opens his mouth).
