The dragon belches a warning little smoke.

Get your fiscal house in order: China warns US as Asia's expresses concern for $1.3tn of investments
And in related news from the trolls under the mountain: Roll Over Plan: Treasury Needed to Pay Off Record $7.5T in Maturing Debt in FY 2013, Issued $8.3T New Debt; Increased Net Debt $777B
LATER: The New York Times gives us this warning "We are reaching end times for Western affluence." -- "When Wealth Disappears."
The decades before the French Revolution saw an extraordinary increase in living standards (alongside a huge increase in government debt). But in the late 1780s, bad weather led to failed harvests and much higher food prices. Rising expectations could no longer be met. We all know what happened next.

If you saw the movie "2016" you know that the demise of US exceptionalism and leadership in the world is Obama's goal. That was his goal from the beginning - to bring down America. He wants to bring us down to the level of 3rd world countries. Well, he has gone a long way toward achieving his goals. And the republicans seem to be self-destructing by using the wrong strategy to fight obamacare. That is, if you believe the media.

I'm going to be an odd-man-out here and state: China should get it's own fiscal house in order, and their environmental house in order as well.

We in America have buildings that are empty, but China has entire cities that are empty...

You think our own housing bubble was bad? Wait until you see China's "city bubble" pop.

China also can only be described as having "19th century England" level of industrialization, with "21st century" level of technology.

In short: China is *&^%'ed for the foreseeable future on the environmental front. Western businessmen are demanding hazard's pay if they are transfered to a Chinese city the air is so bad. Some Chinese schools are spending upwards of $200,000+ to put domes over their playgrounds so their students can run around and keep them from puking out blood.

Another 25-50 years of Communist Chinese environmental policies will result in them not being able to grow their own food in some places.

I am both a gun-enthusiast, a 3%'er, and an environmental nut-job, at least in the case of China which, thanks to its environmental policies (or total lack thereof, along with bat-$H!t crazy policies) will almost certainly never attain super power status this century.
