Kurt Hoffman: IL Dems think 11-round magazines more dangerous than outdated nuclear plants

What the Senate (the House does not meet until the weekend) is doing instead is taking House bills that have already passed, gutting them, and replacing the text of the bill with the forcible citizen disarmament language. If/when the Senate approves the amendment (and they will probably try to do so this afternoon), the (now utterly transformed) and passes the amended bill, it is sent back to the House for a concurrence vote.

They pulled it. Too bad. Those people who live there deserve what they voted for.

Crisis averted for the moment, or so it seems, as this can come back up at any time.

Go back to playing with your air soft and xbox, Meister. The people of Illinois are being assaulted by the Chicago machine. Those of us outside Cook county had no part in electing the scum that rule the state capitol. It is the unfortunate side effect of having a huge population center comprised of useless feeders.

Couldn't agree more Earl. And I live in Cook County. Funny. As leftist as this area is, guns have been flying off of the shelves in the burbs. We also need to give support to the Illinois state rifle assocition. They are a staunch presence in springfield.

I live in Champaign and I voted a pro-Second-Amendment ticket, so don't tell me I deserve that ammo ban, Meister!

I'm actually NOT a gun owner, but am looking to become one while I still can. My gun experience has to date been shooting my grandfather's .22 and the rifle range at Boy Scout camp many years ago. I want to be safe and responsible, but also to get myself something before the legislative tidal wave begins. Does anyone have any good resources I can turn to? I haven't seen any local gun shops, and wouldn't even know which ones were reputable even if I did!
